fruitsJimmytheJimfruitsNorth East Royal Rumours up this way seem to think they will bid £3.5 million and the lure of big wages will take him to Sunderland.
If Keane is mad enough to pay 3.5 m take it and laugh all the way to the bank. Would be a bigger con than Hughes to Norwich for 500k.
Idiot. Hunt-bashing is so ridiculous it barely warrants comment. Don't think for a second that we would be in the relatively comfortable league position we are had it not been for Stephen Hunt. He has been an integral player for us since promotion, and only a massive tool would ignore that fact. You are stuck in the Championship, it seems, back when he was a bit-part, '110%er'. £3.5m for a player we really need to keep hold of is paltry.
"I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it. "
A quote by Voltaire. It really is not necessary to call me or anyone else on this forum an idiot, if one reduces oneself to insults then the debate is lost.
My comment about Hunt was that with the 3.5 m we could go for a more skillfull player, as we learnt with Hughes 100% effort is n´t enough when we wanted to move onto the next higher stage. Hunt has done well but he does not have enough skill, to push us onwards. We must lift the quality of the squad, at the moment we have a squad that has about 16 or 17 players of the same standard, we now have to look for quality.

BR2 I thought the football world had gone mad when Fulham paid money for Konchesky.
It will have gone even more mad if any club is daft enough to pay more than £500,000 for Hunt.
If somebody pays £3million the bubble will finally have burst and football will no longer exist.
by Uke » 21 Dec 2007 16:12
Rawlie19 And for what it's worth, I think he DOES have skill to be in this league and in our starting 11, and so it would seem does Moyes and Keane.
Rawlie19 Idiot.

winchester_royal how anyone can believe that hunt is worth more than £2 million is laughable, he is commited, but lacks the quality to be a constant threat in the premiership...........he was effective against birmingham, a relegation candidate, but against liverpool a prem quality team it was convey who shone
if we can get 3 million for hunt then great..........we can use that money to go and buy a quality RM with convey on the left and have youngsters such as robson-kanu and henry pushing for places on the wing

I can tell you are an idiot, but I am going to get into telling you why anyway!
You obviously don't understand anything, I put it to you that you are totally ignorant with regards to football.
Let me point out to you certain facts:
-Hunt was playing on the right, he is a left-footed left-winger.
-Liverpools left side is their strong side
-Liverpools right side is their weak side
-If playing as left wing you will face Liverpools right side, if playing as right wing you will face their much stronger left side.
There's also the fact that this is ONE single match we are talking about, and the fact that HUNT actually put in a smashing performance and didn't put a foot wrong all match.
So just to sum it up you are totally wrong about everything, and you don't understand the first thing about football!

you are merely making my point for me.....hunt does not have the quality to beat quality defenders, and let me ask you why.....if hunt is as good as you say, he was a bench player in the championship, and was not wanted by brentford........
if this club is to grow then we need skillful, quality players to come in, sadly hunt is not one of them
and also keep your childish insults to yourself..........thinking hunt is a good player does not make you jose fcuking mourinho

utterly wrong - you're criticising a player played out of position against a top 4 side and actually played well, because he isn't...Cristiano f*cking Ronaldo.
During a very difficult season him and Kitson have been the ones consistently stepping up to the plate. And that as Reading fans (I'm assuming you are) is what we need at the moment.
Unless you want to invest 100+ million for transfers and wages?

yes that would be nice...............though maybe slightly unrealistic
i accept that maybe my views on hunt are wrong, but i believe that 5 million pounds is good money for a replacable player

Trying to have an intelligent debate on this forum is more difficult than a camel trying to pass through the eye of the needle. Everyone is entitled to their opinion I say again there is no need to call them "idiots" amd "mentally retarded". I still say selling Hunt for 3m would be good business, I am not a Hunt hater I just think there are better players we could sign with the money.
