Lets stick with ball-winning enforcer Harper then!

My point exactly - we need an enforcer in midfield and some half-wits on here think that Harper is that player. We have no creativity without Marek so who is going to do the other centre midfield role - Harper has been over hyped for ages and got totally found out when Sidwell left

If Olofinjana signs I might even buy a season ticket.

Any Platypuss paying you due credit - Olofinjana signing would be a big step forward, well for our midfield anyway

what the feck are u lot on about
Harper is an absolute fecking legend
He doesnt put a foot wrong in the team, the stability of the midfield is because of him.
He's energetic, fast, determind and always gives 100%
and a very good finisher of the ball and has a fairly strong left foot.
He creates play too.
HE IS A LEGEND
harper over olofinjana anyday!

Hi mate, I can't wait to sit on the bench at Reading as you'll be playing and having no influence on the game.

Ian Royal Funny how Harper has played in th epremiership for two years and the clubs supposedly in for him play in the prem, yet Olofinjana hasn't to my knowledge played in th eprem and there don't seem to be premier league clubs in for him.

It's faultless logic to therefore assume he's better than Harper.

Yeah, and James Beattie would've been a better signing than Doyle a few years ago too because he played in the Premiership.

I'm not going to go that far, but it'd be a step in the right direction.

Right, so if Harper didn't play for us he'd be a better signing than Olofinjana for us?

I'm glad that we agree that Harper is a good quality Prem player.

So lets keep him.

He might be big and black but isn't really and ball winning midfielder.

He's a more physical, less talented Harper. Looks to get forward a lot, scores goals. Ain't gonna sit in front of the back four and let Marek get on with it.

Not saying him and Marek wouldn't work, just that some people who seem so ready to show Harps the door and welcome in Olofinjana, clearly have never watched the guy play that closely.

And some don't seem to have seen to much Harper. 6 goals last season, any lower level Prem club would take that.....

Agree with most of that.

Harper's contribution is often overlooked and his defensive role isn't all about big bone crunching tackles. He slows down attacks and nicks the ball here and there instead.

Not seen a lot of Olofinjana but he seems a bit more of a poor mans Sidwell than a true holding midfielder.

I don't think you need a player to just sit infront of the back four, even if it is a fasionable position, if your midfield can do a bit of both and can build an understanding together.
