I think that is why S.C keeps on about a league within a league,Reading/Wigan/fulham etc are
operating a similar structure with regards wages.Clubs that break out from that mould must
take on the big boys in the hunt for trophys. We just make up the numbers.

Royal Lady
Hugo Boss He wouldn't need to - Coppell has hardly made a dent in the budgets given to him for the last two seasons and this is still available to him.

Not if you listen to some on here. Apparently, for last season we only had a profit of £6m showing on the books. And the TV money for this season hasn't been paid yet apparently.

no apparently about it

with TV money last year we had 50M turnover
and 6M profit- FACT
though i dont know how much money JM took back from the loans out of that

this years 30+M will help increase that significantly but we dont receive that until the end of the season.FACT

that said i really have no idea why JM would want to sell off a business that is probably going to make at least double figure million profits for the next two -three years or longer, even if we go down what with parachute payments
if i was him id want to milk it as long as possible. if we make 6 million without the huge increase in TV money surely we can spend 20 million after we do get the big cash, on players and still increase profits year on year to fill JMs wallet

Maybe John Madejski isn't here to milk us and wants to better the football club by putting it into the hands of someone that can take us forward, where as Madejski knows he can't.

We don't operate with a transfer budget. Money will be made available on the proviso that the purchase is worth the cost.

We've spent over a £1m in lower leagues off the back of making several million pound losses so why £6m profit should have any relation to our "budget" for players I have no idea.

Not investing in the current team is harldy going to attract a new investor. Business as usual on the summer transfer dealings or you can call me Gertrude and put me in a dress.

surely a club thats making double figure profits each year can afford to buy decent players and make its chairman some money too

I would not be surprised if we get Hicks or Gillett with a point to prove over which one stays at Liverpool

Scary

I don't think one on their own would be that bad a thing in many ways.
