Big Ern
LoyalRoyalFan Matejovsky is the only player, who can play those intelligent through-balls, which our strikers can't read

So whats the point of having him then?

Maybe you are so desperate for him to be a star player, you have convinced your tiny mind that he actually is.

Ok fine. We have seen Matejovsky has had some good games and some bad games. However, because he has shown of glimpses of what he can do, I feel that he should produce that on a regular basis. I'll admit that he hasn't done this.

But for me, he can still bring more to the table than Kris Commons could.

Not really. Sig brings much more to the table than Marek, therefore moving Sig to the centre and playing Commons on the left brings us much more than keeping Marek for him to continue to flatter but deceive.

Howard or Karacan.

Karacan offers more defensively but Howard offers more experience. Sig would have to play with a little less freedom than perhaps he'd like.

Can we afford that?

While we are in he bottom 3, struggling to keep clean sheets? Maybe the signing of Milli Vanilli might mean the moving on of Marek at last. With Howard, Sig and Davies, we have more than enough cover from a cretive perspective. Probably recognises that Brynjar is struggling to play one game after another so quickly.

Why would we have signed Khiz to play defensive midfield when we have Karacan, Tabb, Gunnarsson and Cisse?

And why would signing him mean we are more able to offload Marek?

Genuine questions because it makes no bloody sense to me what so ever.

My mate is pretty big with fitness and sports science round nottingham and derby and speaks to quite a few of the midlands based football players on a regular basis. Spoke to lee hughes and kris commons today and mentioned this rumour on HNA. He chuckled and although he has no problem with reading, the general consensus was why would I leave a club which gets 30k a week average attendance whilst battling relegation to move to a club with 17k battling relegation with a chairman who would want me to half my wages.

/thread close now please.

Fair comment Ian. So, if he hasn't been brought in primarily for a holding role in midfield (unless we go for a 1 up front which I know you love  ) he must have been brought in as a CD. Now, why would we bring in a PL player if only to bench him? He MUST play. Could this explain Ivar's improved performance on Saturday?

We have one old right back, a young not very good right back and young left back. Cover there could be crucial. Add to that our defence has been fairly poor - Ingimarsson inparticular imo. Despite his recent better displays against Liverpool and Burnley. He was apparently arse against Forest and Plymouth. something that appears correct from the highlights I saw.

I'd say he's been brought in to play centreback and give us full back cover.
