RockheadRumple
blythspartan Been watching sky sports news to see if there was any mention of Hooper. I was surprised because a lot of the talk was about the fake hoops.

Do Sky not realise that they are in the Championship now? What is the attraction of QPR?

Could say exactly the same about us.

Not really, as many football pundits still see us as the little club from the sleepy suburbs of Berkshire.

Also, we don't get anywhere near the same coverage as the fake hoops.

Tip Blyth - Fake Hoops comment not really helping your argument here.

Proximity to central london and easy walk from Sky offices and, of course, 'apply 'arry. Similar sort of media obsession - but not quite as far gone - as with the 'ammers.

:| Do you even understand what you are saying?

You stated that wages has the biggest correlation with final position.

Last year QPR paid out some of the highest wages in the Premier League. They finished bottom.

I was pointing out that this was evidence that the correlation didn't always stack up.

Clear now?

Clear you don't understand yes.

Biggest correlation =/= guarantee of position. No one ever said it was a 100% correlation. QPR are excellent evidence that it's not just about throwing money at things, but about spending money wisely. You could pay a squad of non-league 30 somethings £100k a year each and it wouldn't guarantee you anything. QPR hugely over-spent on the wrong players who weren't worth the money.

I will be very disappointed if QPR get him and we don't even match their bid.

Surely that would depend on what they bid? Given that they've got £12Mback from the sale of Samba, and given the way they tend to overpay for players it'd not suprise me if they bid a silly amount, in which case, no way should we match it....

I'd still be disappointed though because one of our main rivals would have a quality striker that we were also in for. However i agree that we shouldn't spend stupid money if QPR do, but if the figure is one we can afford then i would want us to match QPR.

You probably also guaranteed he would keep them up.

Anyway, you don't have the metal ability for free thoughts, what does the blinkered view you apply to the badly misinterpreted statistics tell us? Is Jamie Mackie Messi yet?

To be fair Jamie Mackie is one of the hardest working players I have seen in a long time, much like our Noel.

Even you could turn them around at this level with their budget.

What would Hooper see in QPR that he can't see in us? (Apart from ludicrous wages) I really can't see QPR being up to much next season, but I do see The Royals making a pretty good push for the title. If Lennon has admitted Hooper's away then where is he going to?

Norwich? - Already got Van Wolfswinkel and bought Redmond so they've probably not got enough money to get Hooper as well...
Tottenham?- Don't see it personally, SPL to top-level BPL is a pretty big leap
Hull?- Bruce made it clear a second bid is unlikely...
Everton?- Already bought Kone and brought in Delofeu to add to Jelavic, Anichebe etc

If Lennon thinks they've lost Hooper he must have some idea of where he's going... I think it's us (Call me crazy) What do you guys think?

QPR
Pros: Media darling manager with a good record and plenty of brown envelopes, high payers, should have a squad too good for the Championship.
Cons: Basket case on a downer, a toxic squad, in need of transition

Reading
Pros: highly competitive Champ squad, positive mentality and pointed in the right direction, manager he knows
Cons: not as big a name club, not likely to pay over the odds.

I know which I think is the better, choice, even if I'm biased. But I wouldn't be surprised with a player choosing them over us. Assuming it coming down to them or us.

I think he's in the process of finishing them off for good.

No way he'll see the season out.
