Ideally Rhodes as he's on fire currently and would be a "good investment" but failing that I'd be happy with Ebanks-Blake and even Darius....ugly but effective and prb quite cheap as well
If I were Rhodes I would stay exactly where I was until the summer. I'm not convinced by Ebanks-Blake and Darius will be hurt by that comment. He takes great pride in himself.
Ebanks Blake could definitely do a job at this level .....and Darius remains ugly but effective !

I'd like CMS at Reading, but not at the price it would cost.

He would demand a high transfer fee as he has a long contract left. Plus I can't see him wanting the move to be honest.
He has a lot of friends on the seaside, remember he turned down some decent sides to join Brighton.
He is a work horse (so can see that Brian would like him) but there are other players i'd rather have.

He'd be a real asset for us, a clever player that always gets involved though his goalscoring has been a bit shy this season. Just a pity that we couldnt follow up our interest when Peterborough got relegated, cant think he would have gone for an excessive amount then - say a million?. Still, all this talk of strikers when theres a gaping hole at the back!

Would love a smith providing pace that we lack! CB cover and CM is a more urgent concern though

Could be totally irrelevant but Sam Vokes has just signed on for BHA until the end of the season. The fact that they will have cover in place straight away could make this slightly more plausible

Snowball If you are only judging goals this season Church hammers CMS

CMS has had 27 starts, lots of time to bed in. Church is in and out of the side

SC Age 23 . . 2012 = 1,455 League Minutes 6 League Goals = 1 Goal Every 242 Minutes (2.67 Games)

LF Age 25 . . 2012 = 1,543 League Minutes 6 League Goals = 1 Goal every 257 Minutes (2.85 Games

MS Age 27 . . 2012 = 2,345 League Minutes 6 League Goals = 1 Goal Every 391 Minutes (4.33 Games)

However add assists and if you count those as worth a goal then it's

172 Minutes ALF
180 Minutes CMS
242 Minutes Church

Interestig how well Alf stands up against both of them, and would get better if we showed more faith.

I wonder how Church & CMS would stand in comparison in this division alone though.

CMS,George Boyd and Arron McLean have twice run riot at the level below for Peterboro. My perception is that none of them have come close to replicating that sort of record in the Championship whether they've stayed with Posh or moved to another club.

£3m + Simon Church offer according to Today's Daily Mail

Not sure he is worth that, then again depends what Church is being valued at!

Paying well over the top for an average player if thats the case.

Can't see we would pay that for him either. Just smacks of desperation which RFC does not do.

Agree, i don't think it would be a good move at that inflated price

Ian Royal Given the expense of the rest of our deals, the fact Church was brought on ahead of ALF on saturday and the number of strikers we already have I think this one should be filed under "B" for bullcrap.

I think Brian prefers to bring ALF on when we need a goal, and brings Church on when we're leading in the hope he might get a goal for himself.

I would be shocked if we signed CMS though, not expecting us to spend that much on a player this window and don't think he's worth that much anyway. Plus as already said i'm not sure why he'd leave Brighton to join us.
