TheRoyalJoe The club that we're in talks with is Newcastle.

RobRoyalwinchester_royal The guy is an unfit Leigertwood. Would much rather see the money spent elsewhere.
M8, I don't remember Leigertwood commanding a place at Spurs, or a £12m transfer fee. His injury record and recent form is a concern, but that's the only reason he's (supposedly) within our reach. The reason Leigertwood plays for us is not because injuries have scuppered his chance to compete at a higher level. It's because his general lack of talent has scuppered his chance to compete at a higher level.

winchester_royal Sorry but I find posts directed at me in the aggression tone that you're employing to be quite abusive.
Just because I agree with the club's policy of mostly purchasing assets that won't have completely depreciated in value in 2 years (like every other business in every other sector of the economy) unless that older person will make a significant difference in the year or so they'll be here it doesn't make me their mouthpiece
As for the Zaha point, if you still can't get what I'm trying to say Re: that particular saga then I doubt you ever will. The club thought the chances of him being worth more than the £6m Palace were asking for were not worth the risk of such a significant outlay is what I imagine to be the reason behind the refusal to pay it. Mistake in hindsight? Yes. Mistake in judgement of potential? Yes. Mistake in decision having made that judgement of potential? Absolutely not.

You can be offended as you like, none was meant.
Zaha is an example of the club's low-risk approach to transfers that I feel will always hold it back in the PL.

I really don't see how the fee that Tottenham paid for him 6/7 years ago is particularly relevant.
What's more relevant to me is that they were happy to bomb him out to Stoke, who are now trying to get rid of him.
He's unfit, injury prone, and in poor form. Therefore what are the chances of him coming in and making a very real impact?
He'd be no better than Leigertwood, and given we've just signed two new players to play in that position I'd rather see us strengthen elsewhere.

Completely irrelevant brendy. AZ chose to buy the football club and state we'd be an established PL club, not me.

Champ kind had a feeling it could be Danny Simpson....not exactly a 'marquee' signing everyones hoping for. you gotta think that whoever comes here (on a perm as reported) will be willing to play in the championship next year which he done previously with newcastle. still not a bad signing!
