If he got us back up then he'd be worth every penny of £4m. Also interesting if this does come off, as it was only a couple of weeks ago a neutral fan spotted Lambert and Adkins having a drink in Oxford one evening. 1) He is a Saints legend & the fans do not want him to go. Pochettino & Cortese know this.
2) He had a good season last year so why would Saints sell anyway
3) He is PL standard so wouldn't come to us even if he was off

Did the Legend that is Jimmy Quin drop out of the top tear to play for the Cherries at 31/32 so it could happen.

Rocked up and scored a few for us the season after - I know in old money in Div 3 but at 31 lambert may feel that hooking up with Adkins would give him more game time than under the current regime at Saints

Same could be said of the legendary Shaun Goater leaving Man City for us, though hopefully Lambert would have a far better impact!
