Hull making a bid for him according to the BBC, having already just signed Geovanni from Man City. Perhaps Coppell should sit up and take notice seeing as this is exactly what he should have done when we went up. Of course Hull are probably more attractive a club to play for than we were in the Premiership, what with the Humber Bridge and all the sunshine and culture up there.

Completely Agree. Geovanni is a great signing for hull and it will keep the fans happy as it shows ambition to do well.

Lets see where Hull finish first before lauding one signing and one possible bid.....

If they finish 8th or better in the first season than good for them, if they are still there at the end of their 2nd then you'll have a point.

Personally I still think they'll be very lucky to stay up....

Fair play Stoke - £8.5m on two decent players - we would trying doing that on £800k - at least Stoke are showing ambition in the transfer market, something that we have never done - always on the cheap for Reading, and whilst it make have paid off on the odd occasion, in the long term it doesnt, as we have found with being relegated

While I agree Stoke have made 2 very good signings (3 with Fulop looking set to sign), im still far from convinced they'll stay up. Money doesn't guarantee you anything, we finished 8th in our first season barely spending a dime! If Stoke do go down having spent about £11mil on 3 players, then they'll probably have to spend a few years recovering in the Championship.

Also Stoke needed to sign players desperately.

In 2006/7 we on the other hand had come off the back of an unbelievable season. We needed to strengthen at the beginning of last season but not so much at the beginning of 2006/7.

Absolutely right. While we were streets ahead of the other teams in the Championship, Stoke just sneaked it at the end. Their need to strengthen is much greater. That said, SC or others did get it all wrong before our second season in the Prem.
