Re: Everton £3.5 bid for hunt rejected

if he doesnt go we are going to be left with a very unhappy player, will this effect his form?..and if he does go we are left with just the useless Convey in that position, if we accept a higher bid SC is going to have to move very fast to find a replacement

please no we can't sell him now, he has clearly been practicing corners over the summer and is now the only Reading player in years who can take a decent one!

y26 royal the amount of money mr mad's pumped in over the year he deserves some money back in his piggy bank!

Mr Mad has spent a lot of cash, but not much on players, His money has gone on the ground and when he sells the club he will get his money back. Right now he is just bleeding the club dry and taking the club back 5 years......

Would he really be that unhappy if he stayed? I would have thought the prospect of playing with his brother for a few years is not something he'd pass up readily, particularly if we can have a successful season - and the signs are certainly there.

howser The outcome of the Everton interest in Stephen Hunt will once and for all put some belief and understanding to the chairmans often used words " this shows the ambition of the club" I await with interest.

Don't want to worry you but here is a quote from Mr Howe straight from 'A Decade of Dreams':

"Relegation (from PL) might turn out to be not too much of a bad thing because sometimes you need a bit of checking of your speed to make sure you're not taking too many chances or growing too fast. Perhaps our ambitions have got ahead of us a bit. This will give us a chance to examine ourselves and go forward again in the future........"

So how keen do you think the likes of JM & NH really are for an immediate return to the PL?!

If either Doyle or Hunt go I will be very grumpy this evening...surely there is precious little time for personal terms, medicals etc to be sorted out in 4 hours??? Hunt wont go. He will remain a Reading player.

Considering buy out clause is 5 Million, I expect he'll go.
Another one gone, Madejski's pockets even more filled.

If Coppell and co are to stick to their word, then any bid for Hunt has to be at least £5M (what we are led to believe we have turned down before) plus the hefty premium that Coppell said the club would levy for any last minute deals. By my reckoning a hefty premium would be at least 20% so any bid below £6M should be rejected outright.
