I am beginning to wonder though if we are the only team in sporting history that have actually implemented "lulling the opposition into a false sense of security" as a genuine game plan.

Extended-Phenotype If Swansea sign him, they go bust right? Is that how it works?

Yes...well if you are in the RTG brigade anyway. Have to justify it somehow, couldn't possibly be that we are tight.

2 world wars, 1 world cup If its dead, good.

8mill or so on a young midfielder who we'd just expect to slot into our form team and make it better?

If it ain't broke don't fix it I guess. 4-5-1 with a 4-4-2 escape plan is working for now.

But then part of me says even if he gives us he point that might just be the difference between survival and relegation :?:

I think this has all been bollocks, we were never going to pay that amount, it was just to let the fans think we would pay big money to be let down at the last min and say at least we tried to sign him

Blackpool reporter William Wyatt just had lunch with him. So he isn't going anywhere as of yet!

Tokyo Sex Whale 2:10pm and no solid rumours coming forward at all - this is all going to fizzle out in to nothing isn't it?

Tokyo Sex Whale Make a fools bid for Ince and appease the fans in the short term.

Fans get annoyed and realise we still haven't actually spent any money

Sign someone sh*t from Sheff to make the fans thankful we acted quickly to get someone at the last minute after our failed "£7m bid".

Release statement about how we signed four exciting players and lots of activity occurred, we're planning for the future and have a sustainable model.

Just sign Ince FFS...

And Sigurddson...

This.

It amazes me we seem to be the only club in Premiership history that can't spend more than a couple of million on a player without the risk of going bust. Spending lots of money doesn't guarantee success, but it certainly improves your chances.

I think the club has "cried wolf" a few time now, so I agree somewhat with the sentiment of Ideal.

Football is an entertainment business after all and and the young boy inside us all (no peodo) wants to see new and exciting players join, and it may well improve the teams prospects. In all 3 seasons in the Prem we have failed to bring in a decent well known and proven player that has excited the fans. Other teams can do it, but we can't and there have been so many let downs it does cause doubts in the mind that the club are all talk and no substance.

Great you are defending the club to the hilt, but maybe the more objective fans can see both sides of the argument.
