RUMOUR - Marlon Harewood

by YateleyRoyal » 02 Jun 2011 12:05

Just a thought, Notts County today reveal they've offered him a deal but several Championship sides are interested - could we be one?

He's scored goals at this level and has the experience but I for one hope not.

I think he'd be a decent option to replace Long in the squad.

Not quite like for like but pretty close to it and has a decent enough record at this level. I'd rather we go for a little more finese than the battering ram approach but that's not to say we don't need such a player (although I guess McDermott sees Manset fulfiling that role long term).

Why wouldn't you want him?

Would love Harewood to sign. Proven goalscorer at this level as you say. Not the ideal replacement if Long goes but on a free and if County can afford his wages then why not

He's failed just about everywhere he's been, and he was woeful at Blackpool & Barnsley.

Plus his attutude and inflated senseof self-worth would be a lousy fit in our dressing room.

No, no no - just NO!

I'd like to see someone with a bit of pace at the top of the list. Harewood, I fear, would be near the bottom of any sprint stats!

remember that. pardew had played he out wide right and harewood had previously commented how he didn't like playing there. then he had a mare of a first half and got subbed sharpish. stropped off to a chorus of cheers and goads from the faithful. haha.

latest tweet from GameOf_2Halves (a fairly reliable source of transfer rumours etc): Reading & Millwall the latest clubs to be linked with Marlon Harewood. He's certainly a boy in demand!

No never rated him. Remember when he cried like a baby when Pards pulled him off at the Mad Stad against West Ham.

Lazy journalism. They may as well have grouped Watford in there as 'teams who have just lost/just about to lose their main striker'

From the Daily Mirror

Reading and Millwall are competing with each other for the signing of striker Marlon Harewood, who had been offered a deal by Notts County but wants to sign for a Championship side. Harewood can leave Blackpool on a free transfer.
