Sunderland defender Nyron Nosworthy is understood to have held talks with Town, Reading and Crystal Palace, while Sheffield United striker Ched Evans is again linked with the Blues as well as Cardiff City, but with Middlesbrough said to be the favourites for his signature.

I'm happy with Pearce + Mills. With Morrison on the bench. I'm sure they will form quite the partnership next season.

Though a new CB experienced would be beneficial.

Mills is going to Swansea. For 3million so we will need a new CB without Zurab

I'd take £1m.

If this is true (which I doubt), Hammond would be once again showing his genius in the sale of players.

Ian - you are getting very very boring. Why don't you give your repetition a rest? It embarrassing - for you

I thought Nosworthy could've been a decent addition last season if he was fit.

A couple of years back he was a decent defender and did an ok job in the Premier League. He's very good in the air, quick and not too bad on the ball as he started out as quite an attacking right back if my memory is right.

Not sure I saw anything of him last season so I'm not sure how he's looking now, but if he's kept mostof his pace I can certainly understand why McDermott would be looking at him.

Hmmm not sure about this. McDermott seems to have got the best out of the players he's bought (Harte, Khiz & Legs), so will reserve judgement. If this is true, of course.

Got the best out of them?

I'm not being critical of McDermott here because all managers have success and failure with certain players but he didn't even play Kishanishvili for long spells, bought and then ditched Marcus Williams, and I'd say the jury is still out on the long term success of Morrison, Manset and B.Williams.

That leaves Griffin. I like him but I'm not sure you could say McDermott has really got the best out of him could you?

I don't write off any signings (potential or actual) but at the same time getting all carried away with McDermott being some God like miracle worker is a little unrealistic.

"McDermott seems to have got the best out of the players he's bought" = "getting all carried away with McDermott being some God like miracle worker"?

When it's not the case and he hasn't got the best out of the majority of them (yet) then yes I'd say it's over selling his impact and making him out to be achieving way beyond the reality of the situation.
