Rumour - Federici to Swansea

Heard from a reliable source that Rodgers wants to take Federici to Swansea to replace De Vries whose off to Wolves. Fee is around £1.5million that they've offered.

Would make sense Rodgers raved about Federici when he was at Ding, would be a decent club for him to go to in terms of he'd play in the Prem and Reading can get him off the wage bill and play McCarthy.

So sell Feds and keep Long, or keep Feds and not even give ourselves a chance of keeping Long. I know which one I'd take

They would still probably need a more experienced keeper to go into the Premiership with. I'd imagine they'd sign Federici as number 1 with that kid as his backup. Their current backup keeper is that Ma Kalambay who is utterly abysmal.

From what I have seen, McCarthy is the more natural. You could compare it to a modern day scrap similar to that between Shilton and Clemence in the 70s and 80s. Clemence was way more naturally gifted. Shilts just worked that little bit harder. For us to be in a position with two really good keepers is fortunate but I would go for McCarthy in this instance.
