Newcastle left back who was on loan at Huddersfield last season. Maybe he is the 'dog' Jonny Fordham was off to see.

He was not off to see a dog - was just off to the Madejski to see unveiling of two players yesterday. Far too much is being read into that off the cuff remark ..

I asked my geordie mate about this. He didn't text me back.

Make of that what you will, but sounds to me as though he'd be gutted to lose him.

Can he play centre back?
As long as he's Hungary to do well he'd be good.

He doesn't have a squad number at Newcastle so he must be thought of highly there.

Please consider that Bignall and Brett Williams have squad numbers here.

Considering a big part of our game is work ethic, he doesn't sound ideal for us then either.

No point in linking to The Times as it is subscription only.

The item said there is interest in him from Reading and Cologne.

What about Bertrand? You know what you'll get there and Chelsea obviously will never play him ahead of Cole.

Unless Mourinho keeps his job at Madrid and buys Cashley.

Then they'll (finally) sign Van Der Wiel

Remember signing him for my Reading team in Football Manager 2010, he became a solid Premier League CB...

Doesn't mean much - on FIFA 12 Khumalo is an absolute rock; so much so that when his loan ended at the end of season 1 I bought him for season 2 in the Prem. On FIFA 12 he can head the ball with his head rather than his shoulder!

Spoke with a couple of Newcastle fans at work today about this. Although he is a left back, he has played at CB for Newcastle. Hasn't had many games, though but they seem to think he's OK.
