i hope so. it will do him good to go somewhere and get 90 minutes every week, but i do have my reservations. forest are struggling, so service will be limited, and church does seem to need a hat full of chances to put one away.

with a summer of ins and outs approaching, no matter what league we're in, i think time will be called on church's career at reading.

We only have 9 strikers! We don't need anymore! We only have about 3 good midfielders

what does that have to do with it? no-one said it has to be same position for same position. if majewski is a player reading have had their eye on and he is available, then we're interested. forest loaning church as part of the deal is clever on their part, or so they think. once they see him play they'll soon hate us.

:?: :?: :?: but you can't do deals like that

Anyway, my point was if we loan Church out then we will be a striker short - which tbh is where we lack......as the others we have aren't quite up to it at the moment.

can't do deals like what? by the sounds of it it's the player that wants to leave forest, not forest wanting to lose the player - but the boy needs first team football to get into the euros squad. so perhaps reading approach forest but they then say well ok, we'll loan him to you but only if we can loan simon church.

there is nothing at all wrong with that. if both parties are happy and the players agree to the move then so be it.

if we keep church here then we're still a striker short... roberts, hunt and le fondre is absolutely fine. sheppard is returning to fitness as well.

It doesn't work like that though.....

Forest would have to approach us separately for Church - if Church rejects them, then it wont hinder the deal of the Forest player coming here if its been agreed we can have him.

who are you or i to say how it works? it works any way the clubs like, as long as they are happy with their negotiations.

at the end of the day forest don't have to loan anyone to anyone unless they want to. same for reading. but if forest want church and reading fancy majewski then of course it's possible to strike a deal, and then submit official loan requests for the respected players.

Forest have scored 5 goals in about the last 15 games!

Chance to be a real hero, if he gets the service.

I just believe we will not "swap" Church for a midfielder though.......if it was for another striker then maybe, but the fact is Midfield isn't a position we are lacking in

perhaps mcdermott can see church struggling as we can, and he can see his morale dropping, and wants to get the boy playing 90 mins every week again but knows he can't offer him that here? nothing may come of it, but with all the strikers we have, and with church not being a consistent performer for us, i don't see it weakening us; not with roberts, hunt, le fondre and sheppard here as 4th choice in church's absence. it's all opinions. let's see if anything comes of it.

Could not disagree with that more....we could do with a creative force from midfield. It was plain to see it was needed on saturday. We are great on the wings, but if they get shut down, we need that bit of guile a creative mid adds.

Creative Mid>>>>>>>Church.

So you suggest we drop Karacan or would you play a 4-5-1?..........either way its going to disrupt the way we are currently playing [winning]

We have Cywka who is more than capable of being the "creative midfielder" if thats the way McD wants to play

Even if that were true, I wouldn't believe it. The last time Church didn't play at all was mid November, there's no way we'd loan him out.
