RUMOUR - Matt Mills

Mills II

Sky saying this morning we are interested in re-signing Mills!

I think, personally, he'd be a brilliant signing (cheap now he's so out of favour)
chastened and has clear quality managed by the right manager

I usually like to see ex players return but i dont want to see him back ever. He wouldnt be a starter and we wouldn't get the best out of him coming off the bench or from the reserves because he is a petulant, moody little twat. As evidence by his time here and at Loleicester.

No thank you. Good player, but obviously a bit of a twat. And I would rather keep our current CB pairing with Cummings as cover.

I have my doubts about how Cummings will do in the PL playing in his own position let alone someone elses.

Well, I'll go against the grain here and agree with Snowball. If we could get him for c. 1m then it would be an excellent deal.

Personally I would welcome him back, definitely has potential and McDermott can definitely get the best out of him,he has the potential to be a top centre back. If the deal is less than £1m and on standard wages then I think he would be a great addition. IBWT!

He'd be the right sort of cover for us as long as he doesn't mind not being first choice, which as everyone else has pointed out, is the issue.

Only if it doesn't count towards being one of the "4 or 5 signings" we were told would be happening...

Also spoken about on ssn. For me another no. Could not see him being haappy on bench. We have moved on.

This just might work.
The treatment he has received at Leicester might just have been enough to deflate his ego. He has the makings of a very good CB, but it all went to his head rather quickly. If he still possesses the skill but has tempered the attitude, and could be had for a decent price, I wouldn't say no.

Sort out his personality and excellent signing on the cheap.

If he's still a knob, definite no.

That's the risk.

I can see advantages to this; he IS a knob (so many players are though, and he isn't a Joey Barton or Lee Bowyer type knob), but he is also - on his day - an excellent Centre-Half, and as long as the price is less than£2M he would strengthen our central defensive options; BUT he will have to accept that he would have to take a pay cut from what he is getting at Leicester, that he isn't 1st choice centre half by right, nor will he be the Captain - and the question is, how would he take that?

Are Leicester's salaries really more in the Championship than we're likely to pay in the Premier League ?

If so, they are in real trouble if they don't go up this year.

I await, perhaps cowering slightly, Colin Cheeslog's views on this.

Get's on with the players (always see him out with jem, hunty), knows the area, no need to get used to things. For £1m why not...........
