I am always a bit unsure of this bloke. Scored 24 goals in 100+ appearances for Wigan but what is he? A forward, a winger? It wasn't so long ago that everyone was meant to be after him, yet here he is on a free and no one is mentioned.

We are potentially good if Rhodes comes, however think the club is being fairly astute in going after out of contract players.

Take the example of PP, offer him a 4 year contract on decent wages. If it doesn't work out or we slip down then he probably has a decent resale value at the 2 year point which could potentially offset all or most of the wages paid for him.

By comparison if you pay £6m for Rhodes and decent wages to entice him and it doesn't work, then its more than likely to cost a fair few million.

Reckon the guy just needs a change of scene and then he will come good again. Pog was in a similar situation where he was lacking goals for Stuttgart wasn't he?

Could be good for us depending on who we played him alongside would certainly add a pace element to our strike force. We don't really need any strikers however unless we are planning on shipping out Church and Manset but even then we are still left with 4 to pick from.
