I think we'll buy one player, at the minimum. Just an injection of (premier league) quality, just one star player would be nice, however that doesn't fit with the team philosophy.

It's kind of strange with Simon Church... and Alex Pearce tbh, but I doubt we'll sell anyone. God knows if Church is even alive.

Let's go all out and buy Arsharvin, he seems like a nice (although somewhat strange...), talented player....

i think that wissam ben yedder from toulouse would be a good buy. he seems to be a solid, french midfielder.

A new LB, another CB, another striker and another CM.

Will we spend more in Jan though or will we just go with what we've got? Was there more money available and if so why didn't Brian spend it?

That sounds familiar doesn't it.

Think LB is fine, Shorey and Cummings can do a decent enough job.......

Centre back, 2 centre mids and a striker i reckon

Depends how much money we throw at them and im sure a "relegation release clause" will be put in place

I would rather we buy someone who we know can play in the PL. Unless it is Messi or a top european player who has star quality, I don't think we should be looking at buying players outside England. It is a very big gamble to bring in a foreign player and expect him to immediately settle in and perform to his best. Yes Marek Matejovsky was a good player on his day but he wasn't consistent enough for us. Kebe just wasn't ready for the prem at the time as he was just adapting to the speed of the english game.

If I were BMD I would bring in one striker or attacking winger in the form of Zaha even if it did set us back £6 million or so. He will only get better and better as time goes on.

Finally I think we need a centre back who has good composure on the ball and can do something productive with it.

Bryn, Church and Harte to go. Appreciate their efforts for us but time the club took a look at the bigger picture if they want to stay in the PL.

Trouble is the players who'd be swayed by how much money we threw at them wouldn't necessarily be the players we'd want to have in a relegation dogfight.

Why does everyone want Zaha? I'd like him obviously but he's not the player who would save our season come January. If we stay up, the summer would be the time to go in for him (again).

Its not really a case with Zaha if he can make it at the top flight it will be a case of when. Zaha would be useful in the fact he can operate anywhere across the front line.

Can't see who we are going to bring in that will dramatically change our fortunes. I wouldn't mind Gary Hooper but there is no way we would be able to get him and even if we could his price would be almost double of what it should be. Depends where we end up in the table come January I suppose.

I think Brian is in a cleft stick. I doubt adding players will make much difference. Signing Guthrie showed that he knows we have to make a transition to a more creative game, but the transition is fraught with difficulty. At the moment, the only way we know how to play football is press, press, press; and to even keep our heads above water, that pressing game has to be total and constant. Put in a player, such as Guthrie, or even Gunter, who doesn't do that, and leaks start to appear in the boat. No idea what the answer is, but at the moment I am still in favour of using our present style, until we can saturate the side with a higher grade of player. I suspect Brian will buy a couple of players in the window to play our present style rather than to start changing it, which would be risky for now.

I think he's a bit of an arse. Also, he is unlikely to be value. Will probably go for about the same as Connor Wickham (12 million?). Unlikely to be the bargain that Moses was (4 million?).

I think Moses only went for 2.5-3.... CP were hard up.

EDIT - yup, 2.5
It was the 2009–10 season where he really came to prominence, when a run of five goals in eight games for the Eagles saw him become the hottest property of the January transfer window. On the final day of it he completed a £2.5 million transfer to Premier League side Wigan Athletic after Palace went into administration
