Fantasy Transfer Market

by Unbelievable Jeff » 08 Apr 2013 23:04

So, just a bit of fun

You have £10 million to spend for Reading FC on transfers next season in the championship. REALISTICALLY who would you buy if you were Adkins?

My choice would be:

Lewis McGugan (Free)
Kemy Agustien ( 2m)
Jordi Gomez (3m)
Aaron Cresswell (2.5m)
George Boyd (500k)
Harry Kane (Loan)
Leon Barnett (2m)

Lewis McGugan (AM, free) proven AM in championship level, possibly good enough for premiership
charlie austin(ST, 2.6m) proven striker in championship, natural striker who would do well for us in the prem.
Darío Cvitanich(ST, 2.6m) good french striker, good backup for championship/prem
aron gunnarsson (CM, 1.8m) class midfielder in championship, always improving, good eye for goal
tom hoban(CB,.450m) young upcoming cb, good backup for morro and mariappa.
joe dudgeon(lb, .450m) good lb, improvement on what we have
david meyler(CM, 1.8m) good cm player who will help us out a lot and a definite improvement on what we have in midfield.

Mcgugan- free (could be our missing link)
Phillips - free (Although we have good wingers in HRK McCleary Kebe and maybe Obita would still like this lad)
Rhodes - £3.5m (If blackburn were to get relegated I think hes worth a pop, blackburn sees a dark hole with good management could be useful)
Austin - £3.2m (would love him)
Johnny Parr - £3.3m (If palace don't go up and if Roberts leaves then im sure we can all get over his play in roberts red card)

honestly, there is no way in hell we can get rhodes. after his performance this season he will be snatched up by a midtable premier league squad. his days at championship are unfortunately done. also there is no way in hell he is going to go anywhere for 3.5m after blackburn bought him for 8m. his value is still valued at 8m but since he has a few years in his contract and blackburn dont have to sell i can see him going for quite a bit more.

I see where your coming from. Its just blackburn seem to be having trouble with everything. Their owners dont seem to know what they're doing.

Don’t have the knowledge to compile a whole list, but a +1 for Austin, if he doesn’t go to the PL, he’s arguably the best striker in the Championship, and should play in the Premier League soon. Exactly the sort of signing we should be making if we are serious about going back up.

to be fair mate, if we were all being realistic for 10m we wouldnt be able to get but one or two of these players on everyone's lists (minus the frees). there arent a lot of cases where the club will sell at just the market value price. charlie austin i can see going upwards of 5m easily!

Don't see why Jordi Gomez if overly unrealistic. Doesn't really start for Wigan and cannot see him going for over 3 million?

DOYLERSAROYALER Austin, Bridcutt, Boyd and Murray

I think Bridcutt and Boyd are players we should have signed in January. They'd be great additions for next year, as would Austin and Murray, but they all come from pretty high-up championship clubs already and Hull are probably going up, so Boyd will stay there. I doubt any of them would come, except maybe Austin. I'd rather stick with Alfie, though.

It's hard to speculate at the moment, but one I'd say is maybe Jose Fonte for about 5m. Currently 4th choice at Southampton, I think, behind Hooiveld, Maya and Forren.

Think he is only on loan at hull, and not sure whether they would make it permanent because I doubt he will cut it in the Premiership

Jordi Gomez for £3m? The guy who has done nothing all year except score a hat trick against us? Jeeze if we spend £10m on 7 of the most average players, I will be shocked. The only one I'd take is Aaron Cresswell, good young left back, but even he's hardly setting the world on fire. The rest, nothing players.

What are you blithering on about? He's played 33 of their 39 games this year, scoring 8 goals, and starting the majority of those. He'd stay in the Premiership if Wigan moved him on.

Again, will disagree with this. Hull signed him on loan when they were looking good for promotion anyway, and he has done nothing but impress. WHy would they move him on.

Ok mate, did say I am NOT SURE if they would keep him as I cannot see him doing well in the premier league, but if they keep him and he does well, fair play to the lad

OK mate, and I was just offering a different opinion. No need for the big bad capital letters now was there.
