Speculation: Harte, Gorkss, McAnuff, Leigertwood to Leeds

With McDermott unsurprisingly poised to take over at Leeds - surely we might be the first place he'd look for promotion experience?

A return to Elland Road would surely be dreamland for Harte, while the aging McAnuff and Leigertwood will be on sizeable contracts with us and, if barely up to PL level now, will certainly not be in 2 years time.

Can see at least one if not all of these four joining Brian. Any others that might go? Tabbs obviously on a free but might think twice about a bench role. Of course he might swoop for Guthrie, promising to build for the PL around him and then just say, "not selected"!

It would be weird to play McDermott's team, but all the more so if its half of our old team!

Gorkss will most likely go to Leeds. I think cummings might go leeds as well, hasn't been given any real chance here although that was partly down to Brian.

A list I could see going to Leeds are:

McAnuff (Seems like Brians best mate and will probably get captaincy there)
Harte (Loves Leeds still I presume)
Gorkss (Don't see Adkins wanting Gorkss and Brian seemed to find it hard to drop him at first)
Cummings (Not 100% sure why, just have a feeling Brian might want him)
Church (Brian seemed to have real faith in him)

But obviously not all of them.

He certainly did when he was at Southampton. In fact Gorkks was close to signing for them before Brian hijacked the deal.

....or listen. Ian Harte has a young family that is well settled in Reading. I would be surprised if he wanted to go back oop north. It would make real sense to exploit his experience to help develop our young defenders.

Can't see Harte being a good or popular signing for a team like Leeds given his age, even with his past there. I'd be surprised if McAnuff left us. Leigertwood, Gorkss & Cummings seem possibles.

But only if we actually want to sell them. Leeds are never going to be able to swoop and steal our best players, and there aren't many that I think we're going to be looking to move on that they'd be interested in.

Personally i think McD will leave most of our players alone and try and build Leeds in a different way - if he gets half the squad that got us promoted then all their fans/owners will expect promotion when we all know last season was a fluke.
