Robson-Kanu and Pearce to Cardiff

Reading pair Hal Robson-Kanu and Alex Pearce could be offered an immediate return to the Premier League.

With the Royals all but down, Robson-Kanu and Pearce are on the shopping list of newly-promoted Cardiff City, says the Telegraph.

Robson-Kanu, who is also being tracked by Swansea, said: “I know I’ve got the quality for the Premier League. I’ve proved that at international level as well as in the Premier League.

“It’s flattering being linked to teams like Cardiff, especially being Welsh. However, at this moment in time, I’m a Reading player.”

Pearce is out of contract this summer, having been unable to agree a new deal with Reading, and has also been linked with Liverpool.

Would be a shame to lose HRK, but he would have Jimmy Kebe and the team captain to compete with for a place, perhaps it would be good for him. Could get a decent fee for him too, which would help us keep one or two other players.

We all know Pearce is off so no major surprises there.

Honest opinion is i think Cardiff will be looking at relegation, I dont seen any stand out players from their squad but good luck to them. Pearce is off anyway dont care where he goes. Would be a shame to see Kanu go as hes got potential. Really start to like him as hes improved a lot.... Hopeful we can keep hold of him though!

This is what I hated most about getting relegated from the Prem the last time. 'The come and get me' pleas and the reluctance/unwillingness of the Club to fend off the circling vultures.

F/cks me off.

The disappointment is in seeing players we've developed and know well being linked with clubs that are not in the big picture a step up from us. But in all honesty neither of them are going to turn a good championship team into a premiership team. They're good championship players but at best borderline premiership players, so while we could do with either or both this coming season, in the long run we all know we've got to get in players in those positions who are better.

Makes sense given who Pearce's agent is.

But it will end the curse of the Robson-Kanu agent, unless he represents any more of our players...

PLEASE tell me how this is a come and get me plea. This is were fans like you got deluded at federci saying something similar.

He is a footballer. Football is a job. In any job you want to be at the top of your game.

Nowhere in what he said however is a plea of any sort.

Losing HRK would hurt more than relegation in all honesty.

Find it hard to rate HRK at all as either he just doesn't get games or, when he does, it's not often he catches the eye. Be nice to keep him but hardly the end of the world if we don't.

Given that our only marketable players are our Goalies -no Prem club or promoted club in their right mind will take any of our players; on the evidence of what has been produced this season.

I would be surprised if they stay up particularly after their chairman pretty much declaring he hopes not to spend too much money

If you need it to be spelled out, maybe the words "at this moment in time" might give you a huge clue.

If you need it to be spelled out, Federici's infamous SSN interview was also a 'come and get me'

This is were fans like you are deluded.

If you need it spelled out, whatever a footballer says these days is a cliche. Money talks. Federici was being cliched - but honest - when he said he wants to play in the premier league, so is HRK. If you asked Jay Tabb (the current HNA darling) where he wants to play if he was questioned on *insert premier league lower mid table team here*'s interest he'd say the same. Get over yourself.

Not bothered about HRK, hasn't really lit up the premier league this season and was behind the sublime Kebe last season. Seems to have a bit too much body mass for a winger and struggles to consistently deliver end product in the form of an accurate cross.

Think Pearce is half decent (if slightly lacking in pace) but like the look of Morrison and a decent amount of matches next year will bring him on tremendously. If we are back down in the chump it might not be a bad thing to try to rekindle our relationship with Gorks who did a great job for us last time round.

What is hrk supposed to say to that question? Until someone can come up with an alternative I don't see how you can criticise it.

Personally I want him to stay. Kebe's not getting any younger and his build isn't exactly robust so I don't see him getting a great deal less injury prone. Mcanuff also isn't getting any youngrr. So next season could easily see him as a regular and he has the potential to develop into a very good player with regular games under his belt. He's certainly got all the attributes he needs its just a case of can he put it all together properly.

HRK is approaching 24 and not an established first team player yet.

Sums it up.
