Speculation : Björn Bergmann Sigurðarson

by Mr ReadingFC » 07 Jan 2014 20:10

Found a section on Sky Sports News stating apparently he's wanting out of Wolves. He doesn't have a bad scoring record and if Alfie goes, he'd be a great replacement. Plus he's only 22 so he has room for improvement.

Bjorn Sigurdarson is looking for a way out of Wolves and reports in Iceland suggest that Legia Warsaw have expressed an interest in the 22-year-old striker – who has previously worked with their boss Henning Berg at Lillestrom

Sadly Björn has been destroyed as a player since joining Wolves. I dont know if he'll recover. When on form in the right surroundings, he is the most talented Icelandic player today, including Gylfi Sigurdsson. Sad to see his position. I've never seen a player combine speed and skills the way he did but at Wolves he just seems lost.

Get him to the Mad Stad... Just what we need.

Wolves are good at ruining players careers

Sigurdarsons demise courtsey of Wolves supporters:

Taken from their official messageboard

Was anyone else impressed by him today? I haven't been able to see his goal properly yet but some of his touches and moves today were fantastic. I think he's been growing into his role over the last couple of games.

Very impressed - took his goal very well. Some of his touches are sublime.

Sometimes you see a player and you know you've just seen a future star. His run in the first half when he beat 4 players, yes 4 players!! sublime, his turn in the 2nd half which left 2 players on their arses, sublime, his finish world class.

He was fantastic first half, very unlucky not to score a second. Showed everything we'd heard though, pace, power, touch, awareness. A bright spot.

Said to my dad that he'll play in the Champions League one day after todays performance. He agreed.

He's better than Fletcher at everything, except finishing, will be gone within 2 years. A real shame a club like ours cant hold on to this kind of talent.

The lad is quality and will prove to be a very good player but hes in a disjointed team at the moment and still shows signs of real class.

Sigurdarson: a defination of the perfect player.

Starting to show glimpses of the player we all hoped he will be. I still don't think we will see the absolute best of him for a good couple of seasons though.

He is quite simply a beast. His touches are the best I have seen by any Wolves player since I started supporting the club. He'll not be here long.

Few touches when he came on against Barnsley at the start of the season told me all I need to know. He's good enough and he'll get better.

Sigurdarson can control the ball whilst at the same time deciding on his next move, which gives us much more potency going forward.

Teddy Sherringham eqse

Praying we'll not get relegated because he will be gone. Such class!!

In the second half he got more involved, showed great ball control, passing and speed. Had a couple of wow-moments.

What siggudarason has done to justify all the praise he gets? Flashes of decent play but no substance, can even take a pen.

I was thinking he'd done nothing an average Sunday league footballer couldn't have done tonight then he won a towering header. Unfortunately it went straight to County player! He really doesn't look a £3m player.

Sigs is slowly but surely being screwed up here.

If his name was Barry Stevens and not Bjorn Sigurdarson he would be slaughtered by the majority. Not good enough.

He hid tonight. Looks woefully short of confidence

He's average at best. Which is ideal for us, as league one is now our level, which is average at best.

I'll drive him there myself but he'll have to sit in the back on the bench seat, everyone knows he's $$$$ up front.

Ashame but at the moment it's best for him to move on if he doesn't buck up his ideas

Nearly two years of his career down the Pan. I'd be deeply unhappy too.

A shame all round. Seems a decent lad so not nice he is unhappy and not good a player that seems to have talent has not really shown it at Wolves.

He's had enough time and enough opportunities to prove himself, just never grabbed it, might have talent but without desire it's worth Jack.

I can sympathise with some views on here that his potential is as yet unfulfilled, but how many games has Siggy played in the support striker role?
