It's got to be lazy journalism, it's not the first time they've linked an academy product with Liverpool simply because of Brendan Rodger's past affiliation with the club, still waiting on that big move to Liverpool for Pearce.

When he was our manager Obita wasn't playing left back, so how his various links to us historically have any bearing on him possibly thinking Obita would do a job in that position at Anfield is hard to see.

Emphasis seemed to be on our academy rather than his management here to me. Rodgers was only here six months as manager, I still think it's a lazy link.
