RUMOUR - Oliver Norwood on way out?

by Holding Out Hope » 17 Aug 2015 12:00

Couldn't see a thread on the subject already, but read quite a bit on twatter last night that Norwood could well be on his way to SUFC, anyone heard owt? Would be a surprise if we were to let him go, and why would he want to drop down a division?

To move back up north....... or perhaps he just wants to 'Tango' with his old manager :)

Guess it's a possibility with Alex expected to be confirmed today and Chalobah supposedly waiting in the wings. A bit of money towards our ultimate striker wouldn't go amiss either.

SUFC is ambiguous. Do you mean Sheffield United, Southend United, Scunthorpe United?

I would be surprised if this happened, Norwood's had a good season so far and is our best defensive midfielder. If Chalobah came in, then maybe, but I still think he'd want to play in the Championship.

Given we're totally one dimensional and he's the only one with a range of passing in his locker i hope not.

I don't rate him, no great loss. I think League One is more his level to be honest, he'll fit in with the likes of Connor Sammon.

by range of passing do you mean inaccurate from long distance as opposed to inaccurate from short distance which the rest of the team are?

Rumour started by a 16 year old aspiring sports journalist.....

Cannot see this happening at all.

Bristol City made an enquiry over the summer, if that helps anything.

See Gunter's goal. If the team had any movement or decent shape to provide passing options he'd show his quality. Although by many accounts he's back to being one of our best performers again already.

Terrible set pieces on Sunday though. Criminal when we aren't creating much in open play.

Wasn't brilliant on Sunday but needs a run of games.

Be very surprised if he'd welcome dropping down a division, especially with a possible euro 2016 appearance looming.

Nothing story. Ahead of tish and Kuhl in my book. I personally think he will have a decent season with Ferdinand & McShane behind him and a decent run of games in the side.
