This chap was on trial here, memory seems to recall under Brian McDermott, and we decided against bringing him in. He was around 16/17 at the time I think. He's just joined Napoli for 34m euros!
He was rejected as he didn't fit the Reading profile for strikers - as last season's tally of 21 goals in 31 games for Ajax proves (if he was the type to manage 1 goal or less, in 31, we'd have snapped him up).

Perhaps. I heard at the time it was because we wouldn't meet the £150,000 valuation put on him at his age. In any case - the one who got away.
