Hmmm - 28 and last season was his first season as a No. 1 and only has a handful of apperances above League 2 level. Doesn't mean he's not a good keeper and would come here happy to challenge for the starting spot rather than going straight in but feels like a Walker Mk 2.

Can only assume, if true, this means that the coaching staff really do not rate the young keepers on our books.

We’ve created a gap in our keeping and it would be asking too much to expect Andrésson and CDC to step,up this season. I think there may be concerns about another young keeper we have and therefore we’re looking for an older, inexpensive option .
How old was Marcus when we signed him ? Very little first team experience and about to quit the game. Keepers do just develop later in some cases

It's an area where we can definitely do better. The question is whether this guy is actually better than what we have. Some keepers develop late, but a career in League 2 at 28 does not inspire confidence.

According to HITC Cornell is a former Wales U21 international who made in all 48 appearances for Northampton last season.

Virginia will start (and I expect do quite well) and Walker is a capable back up (though not one I'd want to play a lot of games)

I don't think we have a crisis but if we can have a 3rd senior keeper that would feel like the right number. It only takes Virginia to get a knock and we are left with Walker and then probably Andressen and CBC - (if Southwood is still here he is certainly not favoured). Don't want to block their paths but are they at a stage they are ready yet.

but what do you do with that 3rd keeper when JV and Walker are fit?

It does seem that Jokull and CBC have jumped right above Driscoll, Southwood, Ward in the queue and will be keeping regularly in the U23, so should be expected to be able to step up if needed.
