WestYorksRoyal How many success stories involve a back story of being rejected by various academies for being "too small"? Ebere Eze I believe is one. Charlie Austin is one we let go too.
On the flip side, I imagine in most cases the academy doing the releasing are proven right, we just don't hear about it.

These days “too small” is usually the “I like you as a friend” of “reasons why we released you”. I know Reading are still using it despite Karacan, Liam Kelly, Tanner, East, etc.

Bit different in a position which generally speaking commands some degree of height. No idea how tall this kid but you don’t get many CB’s less than 6ft/6ft1. To be shorter than that and still be effective you have to be really really oxf*rd good, and not many are.
