SPECULATION - Wayne Routledge

by Jase_Royals » 14 Jan 2008 18:33

SSN are reporting that Brum are interested with the reported fee believed to be £3 mil, surely someone we should be looking at? young, English, right sided, natural pace... Impressed me on the couple of occasions i saw him down at pompey a few seasons ago! Thoughts people.....?

Lightweight and crap.

Wages could be a problem.

He's not leightweight at all.

He might be small but in his Palace days I was always impressed by his strength on the ball, and his willingness to battle for possession.

He won't win many far post headers or be much help defending set pieces, but he's probably as good a winger as we can afford. And for those who were bemoaning our lack of pace he'd certainly add a bit of that down the right hand side.

QPR have reportedly tabled a £1.8m bid.

I'm not even remotely interested in Routledge. He's taken a long time to fail to prove himself at this level.

would be a great buy, excellent goalscoring record at the Mad, hope if we signed him he would keep it up.

Would be ideal for us but at that price i don't think the board will agree.

He's one of those that I thought we should've looked at bringing in over the summer.

He'd add pace, he's a natural winger, and he's better than our other options for the right wing this season.

He and Rosenior have played together before as well, so that might be seen as a bonus.

He was outsanding at Palace and I'm sure Coppell could work some magic with him as he fits the Reading profile that they keep bleeting on about. He's young, has something to prove and full of natural ability.

He will cost more than a million & earn more than 10k a week - So Reading won't be interested.

He's a right winger.

Makes him better than any other right winger we have.

Still we don't need him. Fae plays on the wing for Senegal remember.

QPR have confirmed they are not interested in Routledge. Would really like to see us go after him, has definetely got the potential.
