SPECULATION - Jason Roberts

by Crowthorne Royal » 15 Jan 2008 08:10

.......has handed in a transfer request to Blackburn. Let's go and get him, surely his public 'request' is a cry for help (a la Lita) so come on RFC let's see some activity from you! All our relegtation rivals are doing allsorts, Mcfadden potentially to B'ham, M'boro in for 3 players, S'land even talking about getting Sidwell, offers for Hunt, etc, etc. We will go down if we maintain this inertia...Please do something to bring in some desparately needed quality to our squad.

They're having a think about some transfers, then they'll talk a bit about it, then about 1 hour before the window closes they'll let someone like Hunt go and sign another player who will struggle to even get on the bench!

He will take too long to adjust to the pace of the English game.

unfortunately we cant compete with the likes of Wigan , Sunderland , and Birmingham, so for now we'll just have to let this one go and concentrate on players who want to play for Reading.

I saw Andy Morrell at Reading station yesterday 8)

He always comes across as a very intelligent footballer to be honest. With that in mind I think he'd fit in pretty well with the way Coppell likes to operate.

As for not fitting into our style, he'd be perfect as a different option to our other forwards who, apart from Kitson, are all a bit similar. He's also not too disimilar to Owusu in style though, and Coppell bought him in so I don't see why he wouldn't go for the improved model in Robertgs.

I don't think it'll happen though. If he leaves Blackburn because of a lack of first team football more likely to go somewhere where he thinks he's more likely to start games. With Kitson and Doyle as quite an established pairing he might not see much of a way in.
