RUMOUR : Seyi Olofinjana

by LoyalRoyalFan » 21 Jan 2008 17:14

Daily Mirror :

Middlesbrough and Reading are interested in Wolves' Seyi Olofinjana

Would this be a good signing as we now have a bit to many midfielders?

I'd prefer a few whole midfield players to be honest, bits aren't much good.

Harper - Very Good on his best days.
Gunnarson - Slow and can't pass
Fae - Don't Get in the Team
Matejovsky - Looks Good.
Cisse - Alright.Better at CB
Hunt - Didn't look at his best vs Man U
Oster ( vs Newcastle last year CM ) - Played well.

Plus if Kebe comes.

So you've basically shown that Harper is the only midfield player we can rely on having...
Gunnarsson isn't good enough (according to you)
Fae is at ACN and isn't showing Coppell he's good enough to play
Matejovsky did well in a 10minute sub appearance so is proming, but not a guaranteed success
Cisse is needed at CB and has looked pretty poor CM really
Hunter and Oster are both wingers
Admittedly Olofinjana is unlikely to be top of our list in terms of need, but we haven't exactly got depth in CM.

Would be a decent signing I reckon. Looked ok in midfield for Nigeria today. Would probably cost around £5m imo and can't see us splashing out on him in this transfer window, especially with him away.

Ideal Injury prone.
Has had persistant back problems the last four years.

Perhaps he could lend some ideas to helping Reading cure their back issues.

We need to stop arseing about and sign a right mid now ffs, with Michael Kightly being the only player worth snaffling from Wolves.

Might as well introduce James Henry than buy Kightly in my opinion. Bear in mind now that we've left it so long its probably worth waiting to see what state Glen Little's in in March.

Many people i know believe that when Glen comes back he won't be the same player or he might retire if this injurt pursues.

Many people I know take a contrary view to that.

No way he'd cost that much.

He's a big player for Wolves and with the market as inflated as it is I think it would be around the £5m mark

I get the feeling with Oster's return we'll hang off on a right winger in the hope something more exciting turns up in the summer. I'd have thought if Kightly was that good there'd have been a whole lot more about clubs sniffing around him.

I'd like us to sign a winger and I think we're desperately in need. But not so desperately now as to buy a player who won't improve us enough and would just end up as another player on the books not playing come September.

I think Barry robson from dundee would be a good potential signing to look at.

Newcastle are after him and sadly, they'll pay more and be a more attractive prospect for him

Tell you who we should nab, Jason Puncheon from Barnet. He's all left foot but plays on the right for Barnet. Best player on the park by miles last night, raw skill and talent, full of tricks and beats people for fun. Also got 10 goals from the wing this season.

He's going to be a really good player.

He was good last night. Ran all game. Birchall wasn't bad either.

He worked very hard, 1st half in particular.

Thought Yakubu (only 22) as well was good at the back. Another one with a good future. I like the 'Barnet way' they get a lot of young players and people from non league and form a very competitive and good team to watch. Very likeable club and i will be returning to Underhill again this season. Probably saturday in all honesty!
