Reading boss Steve Coppell is chasing Wolves midfielder Karl Henry.

Henry, 25, who signed a new deal last year, has been outstanding despite the club's poor Championship form. And Coppell is prepared to test Wolves' resolve with a £2.5million bid for the ex-Stoke player who was born in Wolverhampton.

Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has quashed tabloid rumours that Reading are set to bid £2.5 million for Wolves midfielder Karl Kenry


The report ,which is obviously made up,priced Karl Henry at £2.5 million was in one of the tabloids this morning. Either the reporter was drunk when he wrote it or he is mentally deluded. Henry is a good Championship player, but a £2.5 million Premiership player ?

McCarthy said on the subject "There is absolutely no truth in that whatsoever. I think I know what kind of bloke Steve Morgan is and he'd pick the phone up and tell me if there had been any kind of bid for one of my players.
