We could buy him back couldn't we?
Big, strong, good in the air..................goalscorer, dodgy hair, left footer.........
Perfect replacement for Kits.

Good enough for Wolves & Brum to make bids.

andrew1957 He was no way good enough for the PL and only scored 13 last year.
I would back all three of our strikers to get 15 or more next season if they stay fit. If we buy anyone I wold rather see Maynard or even Simon Cox back.

Only? That's not a bad return.
We could do a lot worse if we wanted to bring in a target man, although bringing him back wouldn't fill me with a lot of enthusiasm.
It's looking like Pardew was right though, if we'd kept him he'd have saved us spending £2m on a similar player a few years down the line!

LOL, we've still not payed £2million on a similar player 5 years down the line.

Ian Royal agreed, Henderson would be a backward step IMO.
If you want to sign a striker we've had before at least go with one that has a good scoring record at this level. Morley, Quinn, Cureton maybe.

papereyes When we got promotion with a record number of points and a fantastic number of goals, we did fulfil not andrew1957's prediction of 3 strikers getting 15 goals or more. (18, 18, 11).
When West Brom won it last season, they did not achieve this. Likewise Sunderland the season before and when they were champions in 04/05. That's the teams that won it. I can go and look back at the top scorers in the division if they are different but I get the feeling it will be similar. Furthermore, I doubt we will be either.
Does andrew1957 want to put a tidy wager on it? a small sum to a charity? A beer of his choice? Something small but enough to pin you down to a pretty ridiculous comment.
It is up there with "All three of our strikers will get 10 goals" last season. Ridiculous, almost stupid in its naivity.
