RUMOUR - Lita staying at Norwich

by UpNorth » 04 Dec 2008 09:05

Papers saying Lita could make a permanent switch to Norwich for £500k in January.

Coppell would probably take the money even though it represents a loss. A replacement is essential. Who can we get for a few quid??

No way should we sell Lita for 500k. Surely we could get more than that for him. Also, Norwich haven't got a pot to piss in so he won't be going there.

£500k is better than £0k in the summer.

Don't you love it when clubs start transfer negotiations in the papers!!!

IF we want to sell Lita (and I'm not sure we do) then we would want more than £500K for a striker who was provem at Premiership level.

They should be looking to pay a similar amount that Rob Earnshaw went to them for (eg: £3M)

Surely it would only be a paper loss on him ?

We've had a fair bit of use out of him since we signed him ! Although perhaps not as much as we would have liked.

Given Coppell's track record 500k should be plenty to sign a top class replacement. It's not often he needs that much to unearth a good goalscorer.

500k would be good money for a player out of contract in the summer. If he's never going to play for Coppell again (as the rumours seem to suggest) then any money at all is a bonus.

If he decides he wants to be a good boy and play for Reading for six months and leave on a free I'd take that too. Not sure the Boss would but I guess that's up to him.

We won't be replacing him if he does go and I don't think we need to. Norwich won't be able to afford 500K but i'm sure someone will pay that. Good business all round if he does go

Lita is unwanted here, out of contract in the summer, and isn't proven in the Premiership. He's only played a season and a bit in the Championship!

£500k for him would be reasonable with the current state of affairs. It's a shame though because last summer we'd probably have been able to get at least £3m.

Just goes to show how a players stock can rise and fall quite quickly.

Bristol City are rumoured to be interested as well. Personally unless he's going to come back and get a place in the starting line up he'll go in the summer for nothing (unless we have the Premiership carrot to wave at him). Wouldn't be the first time we've got 0 back on a player we spend out on and probably wouldn't be the last. For the record I'd rather have Lita on the bench than Shane Long.

That said if the right offer comes in we'll sell and 500k would sounds reasonable considering he's played b*gger all games for us in 18 months and scored even less than that. Still rather he didn't go to other Championship sides unless on loan though.

For the record his second loan month comes to an end after Norwich's game next Tuesday.

I'd rather have Long even though he is the worse player, same reason why I wouldn't swap Hunt for Kitson.

Why would it be essential?

Coppell hasn't wanted him around the club for the best part of 12 months now so I don't see him as an essential squad member.

Not when he's off on a free transfer in the summer we wont.

500k is superb business.

Is he too old for compensation by a tribunal, thought it was like 24 years old?

Given that at a conservative estimate of £10k a week for the last 3 and a half years we've already already paid him £1.7m + bonus. And we paid a £1m for him.

We'd have to sell him for nigh on £3m to break even.

All this talk about profit in transfers is ridiculous.

Why do we need a replacement player to send out on loan? Surely we have enough players to generate a loan from within the current squad?

(if that is too confusing, my point is that it hardly essential to replace a player who isn't even really part of the regular squad.)
