SPECULATION - Lee Croft

by tomrfcurz » 31 Dec 2008 09:28

A mate mentioned it to me at the Southampton away game that if Leroy goes to Norwich permantley, RFC could be in with a chance of getting Lee Croft, what does everyone think, can't make my mind up about him to be honest, he's like a Seol Ki-Hyeon i dread to say, great some days and absolute balls on another :s

I've seen Lee Croft play many times and to be fair he's done very well this season in a poor Norwich side. He doesn't look much like a footballer but can fly down the wing when he gets going. His crossing is generally poor, and his goal scoring record for Norwich is abysmal.

Reknowned by Norwich fans for not being able to hit a barn door last season, but has improved this season and scored four goals, although two were tap-ins. He also has a reputation as being a top bloke and a trier. I'd also say that he is a player who could improve more with the right tutelage.

He is out of contract at the end of the season and is currently not talking to Norwich about another deal, so could walk away. I'd say on top form he is a fringe premiership player, much like many we already have.

There are rumours up here that Norwich will sell him to Sheff Utd in the transfer window rather than see him walk away for nowt in the summer.

Most affective on the right, and we are blessed? in that position with Kebe and Henry are we not?

Sounds a lot like Kebe. We don't need two.

Could be a good signing, not sure he would fit in with the team though

Just out of interest, why not?

Personally I don't think he's that good.

Thought he was good when they came here, you can't really judge on one game though can you.

True, a lot of people see someone have one good game, and think hes amazing, and if they have a bad game, that there rubbish. Croft has been good once or twice this year, but hes not been consistently good.

We've got the right number of bodies for the wings, but there are question marks over Henry and especially Convey's ability to perform there. With SHunt possibly leaving we could do with a winger, but I'd just as soon get a less talented but more consistent player.

Kebe already blows a bit hot and cold or at least it varies whether he can actually produce an end product. SHunt can be a bit like that as well.

...But is he any better than what we already have - he appears to play on right wing for Norwich and we have Kebbe, Little and probably Tabb that can play there?
