Hasn't he been off to Villa every transfer window since we signed him?

Think that Villa will buy him now as they have £12 million top spend. Suspect we will settle for about £7M - or possibly a part exchange for Sidwell???? - assuming of course the new manager rates him and Villa don't see him as a Barry replacement..

No way Sidwell will be coming back for two reasons...we are in the Championship and (the bottom) half of the Premier League would easily love to have Sids in their squads, and secondly we would not be able to accomodate his weekly wage in our CHAMPIONSHIP wage structure.

Sir John has on more than one occasion mentioned that he is touching cloth, sorry cutting our cloth to the CHAMPIONSHIP level we are playing at.

I wouldn't like to see Kev go but Villa would be a realistic move for him and could see him working well with either Gabby Ag or John Carew. Top 4 is out of reach for him but top half of Prem and Europa league experience would be a good move for him. I am resigned to him going somewhere unfortunately but don't think it will happen until a new manager comes in.

Seeing Doyle in another shirt will hurt. Personally, whilst I have never really agreed with any of the previously inflated predicted values of our players, I will be disappointed with anything less than £5 million for Doyle.

I think £2-3m would be a more likely figure given that a) we are still in the CCC and b) he hardly set the world alight last season (or dampened it out in the second half of the season at any rate).

TBM Perhaps there'll be a part-ex with Emile Heskey.

Good news, we need to offload all the players that want out.

Haven't seen Doyle say he wants out? Indeed, he signed his new contract before the transfer window opened.

Couldn't see it in his play either, he was the best player on the pitch at Burnley til he got injured. Still gave 110% every game.

the lad had a release clause entered into his new contrqact if we didn't go up, think it is about £6.5 m, so there's the price for potential suitors

I think he could be back to his absolutely brilliant best under Rodgers IMHO!

Think Sunderland might be a possible suitor now... they have a new manager and a new supply of cash to burn (to replace the pile spunked by Keano).

Club with an ambition to get in to the Europa League places next season and need a striker IMO.

I've heard him interviewed about it - admittedly it was 18 months ago, but I suspect it's still relevant.

He said that no player wants to be retiring at age 35 and thinking to themselves "what would have happened if I'd not turned down that move to a big club?". Also he said that no player moves to sit on the bench - they all believe that they'll get there and be a success.

Personally - young hungry player >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> big name player

Doyle won't be moving until Branson says he can go and only after Fowler is brought in as a replacement

Disagree. Look at Cardiff and speculation about Ledley at £5m and their centre back at £5m. Doyle HAS the Premiership experience, they don't. Now, I don't think Doyle is worth that, but against those two, we should hold out for every penny!

Never going to happen. He would know he'd almost certainly be back in the Championship in a years time, and they surely wont spend the £3-5m they'd surely need to get him.
