I'd be surprised if he came here, we have many centre mids. Also, Dillon referred to the club as 'great', which we all know that Reading is.

Welcome the lad with open arms, Nobbers.

Thaumagurist* I don't think any player from that club will be good enough for us.

You forget the mercurial Glenn Burvill.

That aside, have a think about who else the Dillmeister played for. And of those clubs, which are in the CCC. Move to Portsmouth perhaps?

He's a mid-fielder do we really need him?

He could play in midfield if needed.

It implies that he going to a big club and does say people will be surprised so I reckon it probably be someone like Forest or Leeds or possibly Middlesborough. Hell could even be Bristol City.

Didn't do Scott Davies any harm playing for them

"He goes with a pat on the back and the club he's going to is great. Some people will be surprised where he's going but he deserves it and it will improve his career."

14 goals from midfield shouldn't be sniffed at, and he'd probably be happy to be on the bench hoping to displace Tabb and Howard.

Matejovsky's gone, Cisse allowed to go too. So it wouldn't hurt to add a midfielder. Low end wages too. Could be Sigurdsson's long term replacement when he ups and leaves next summer.

And why do you think that is SbS? Because he is not good enough to force his way into the team? From an attacking CM perspective, who else do we currently have? May be worth a shout, maybe not. Just because he plays for the shite does not necessarily make him a bad player.

Although I wouldn't like to say whether we would be interested in signing Donnelly I think it is something of a fallacy that we are overflowing with midfielders who are serious contenders to play in the first team as one of the central midfield pair.

We have offloaded Marek and may do the same with Cisse which as far as I can see leaves us with only Howard, Tabb and Gunnarsson who McDermott has so far been willing to start as one of the central midfield pair. Yes, Gylfi could play there but so far has started only as a deep lying forward or wide midfileder and Davies can play there but so far he has not been in the gaffer's plans so if the right player became available at the right price I wouldn't say we would rule out a bid for a central midfileder.

You have forgotten Karacan. We have Karacan, Howard, Tabb and Gunnarsson for the two holding slots. That is plenty and we have Cisse if he stays.

Davies is more of an attacking midfielder so would be potential cover for Gylfi - not for the defensive slot.

The problem with Marek is that he did not play the holding role as well as the other four and was not as good as Gyfi in the attacking role.
