3 x Pekin Bantam Cockerels - New Home Needed

I have 3 pekin bantam cocks that need a new home, ideally someone with a decent bit of land who already has free range chickens, if they don't find a home by Friday, then they will be going to the farmer who books them a one way ticket to bantam heaven.

Other than the sunday roast replies etc.. any useful info about land owners/farmers etc would be appreciated.

Upd8 required.

Is this the end of the small holding, Tredder? Always fancied giving it a go - is it as easy as it looks :?:

Yes, it's pretty easy, you need some fencing to make a run, buy a coop for them to sleep in, and make sure they are locked away at night, Pekins are lovely birds and extremely docile, great layers and get broody very quickly, so you can increase the volume if you want to.

It's amazing to do it from scratch, buy the eggs at a show or off ebay, incubate them yourself, rear them and then move them to the run.

We had a surplus of cocks, 4 is too many as they fight and are rough with the hens, so we trimmed down to the 1 cock and he now has 14 hens to administer.

The other 3 were taken to the farmer who put them on the bus to heaven.

How did you decide which cock to keep? Was there a fight to the death?

Maybe you should keep 2 just to keep them on their toes.

The eldest one, he was their dad, so he deserved to stay, plus he's an attractive cock, lovely gloss to him.

Nothing more attractive than a glossy cock with a nice shine.
