Warnock: Reading are not in our league

by UpNorth » 16 Sep 2006 13:18

Warnock been stoking the fires before the game. this could just rebound on him big time.

Interview in the Daily Mail:

' I don't think Reading are in our league when it comes to a financial projection, said Warnock, whose plc chairman Kevin McCabe has sought to bring money in from off-field enterprises - includng the purchase of a club in China - while Reading's benefactorial chairman John Madejski is considering selling up.'

'So much is being generated off the field and there are exciting times ahead here. No disrespect to Reading and Watford but we are in the top half in terms of income and projection.'

Wow, buying some obscure club in China makes them better than us! Presumably spending a whole lot more cash on second rate players also shows their ambition.

Never a dull moment with Neil. Here's hoping that Warnocks's future projections include being booted out when they get relegated.

It's illegal for one person to own more than 1 club according to Fifa I thought?

They may have more revenue, but they also have more mediocre players. They are going nowhere on the field and we are much better set up than them, if a little smaller. I'd also suggest Warnock takes a look at which half of the table our teams are in.

Twat was banging on on football focus about how our defence has been together for ages and we haven't suffered any injuries there for 18 months.

He appears to not remember that Murty and Shorey were injured when we played him, that we've played Gunnarsson in centreback and that Sonko and Ingimarsson have both played through injuries. He might want to look at the reason we haven't suffered from suspensions apart from against Wigan as well. He is a grade 'A' cock, and Sheffield are doomed to the drop.

Can I also add this shite from the w@nker, from todays Sun. Same interview by all accounts just as full of shite:

NEIL WARNOCK claims Sheffield United are a bigger club than Reading with more clout to survive in the Premiership.

The Royals arrive at Bramall Lane today looking to maintain their impressive start to the season — which has seen them pick up two wins to climb to eighth in the table.

Warnock’s Blades are still searching for their first victory and find themselves languishing in the bottom three.

But Warnock said: “I don’t think they’re anywhere near our league in respect of having more clout to survive.

“I think the long-term future of Sheffield United is unbelievable, with the projects we’ve got on board.

“If you’re talking about their chairman John Madejski, it’s obvious he wants to sell up.

“In contrast, we’re generating so much more off the field and we’re going to have crowds of 30,000.

“It’s an exciting time. So, with no disrespect to Reading or Watford, we are almost in the top half of the Premiership in terms of clubs’ incomes and projections.â€

NW has a habit of opening his gob long before any attempt to engage the little grey matter he possesses. What seems to have passed, the less than bright, Warnock by is that John Madejski's motive for encouraging financial interest in the club is based very much on ambition and a desire to much more than "survive" in the Premiership. Let's see the clubs' respective positions in a few years time and then make a judgement eh Neil?

He is quality for pantomine value alone.

It is in our best interests for him to be there for as long as possible.
