Have to say I fancy Utd to be the main challengers to Chelsea this year, Arsenal have gone backwards and Liverpool as ever lack a 20 goal man. Hyppia is a year out of date as well I'd say.

Spurs just haven't managed to get enough to click to make a serious challenge and I don't think there are any other teams big enough to make the impact. Newcastle maybe if they actually sorted themselves out, but it's gonna take a long old time to sort out the mess Souness left them in.

I think it's likely to be quite a close run thing with a lot of surprises this year.

Oh good Man Utd looking to get back on track when they play us. Not what I had hoped for.

Anyone claiming Arsenal are a better side than they were 2 years ago is a fool. Doesn't mean they're rubbish, but they rely on Henry very heavily and I can't see them being serious title contenders this season.

They're potentially better than they were a year ago, though, and could be a lot better by the second half of the season if Rosicky and Baptista bed in well. Gallas already looks the part. If they can squirrel away enough points before Christmas, they could yet be a factor by the end of the season.

Now, will a defeat by lowly Arsenal knock Man U's confidence before playing us, or will it buoy them up, knowing the stick they'd get if they also lost to us??

Ignoring young mr deacon's posts for a minute I reckon yesterday's result at OT is bad for us as you rarely see United lose 2 on the spin in the prem. However I do think we have the wherewithall to nick a point, fingers crossed. Either way, isn't this exactly why you want to play in the top division?

As long as we give a good account of ourselves and don't get beaten heavily, it won't be too bad if we lose.

I do think that we can nick a point, but we'll need a lot of luck and we'll have to defend better than we did on Saturday. But let's not forget that Wigan lost five in a row against the big clubs and got hammered along the way. Yet they stayed up.

Wally might want to do a little extra coaching , but with Doyler on fire and Leroy an ever present danger, I think we're more than capable of at least getting a point, may be even all 3.

I thought Fergie looked more than inpressed up at Bramell Lane with our first half display.
