To those who left 10 minutes before the full time whistle

My perogative

A football match consists of 90 minutes because towards the end of this time the players will be reaching the limit of their physical endurance. Many matches are won and lost in the last few minutes as players become fatigued and are under pressure to defend or score and inevitably mistakes are made. By always leaving early you are missing the most match changing football. You would be better advised to arrive late rather than leave late.

I realise this is just abuse and contravenes the hallowed rules of HNA, but:

Not only are there a myriad of reasons why people may exercise their personal right to leave the game before the final whistle but it also doesn't make the slightest bit of difference to your tragic life. Who cares?

Maybe if you had something to occupy your time other than Reading Football Club and serial dog-bothering then you might realise why people do it.

you people moan about everything. it's an individuals decision, if you don't like it, who cares what your opinion is? it isn't going stop anything, if someone wants to leave early, whatever their reason is, is THEIR PREROGATIVE, not yours. no one has to ask you when they are allowed to leave. god damn socialists.

Oh no, not this again. We've established time and time again that those who leave football matches early are several sandwiches short of a picnic. We've also established that it is nothing short of extreme pomposity to suggest that these people should not be allowed to exercise their God given right to be stupid.

Some young blokes were leaving at the whistle at the end of normal time and noticed us and some others still sitting - so they asked if it was extra time! We said, yes, and there'll be penalties too if it stays a draw! So they went and sat back down again. I SO wanted to shout pLOLastics at them - but managed to bite my tongue!

What is so pathetic about a thread that laughs at the pathetic people who decide that we've lost and leave before the game is finished.

so what is 8 mins before the end of a game that goes to extra time and penalties?

The 82nd minute or the 112th minute?

if you left after 82 and we played 120 (forgetting the 6 minutes injury time you missed a damn site more than 8 minutes!

Everybody's perogative to leave early, absolutely. However, I've never done it and I never will. What irks me most is the people who want to leave the game two minutes before the end 'to beat the rush'. Over the last 12 months our boys have sweated their guts out and it's just a pity those that haven't got a train to catch, pick the kids up etc could make a similar effort.

I left at the end of extra time before the penalty's because of fear I would miss the last train, I really didn't fancy paying £40 for a taxi back to Ascot. However I was well pissed of to see that loads of Reading fans made it back for the train with about a minute to spare saying 'that was close'. Why didn't I risk it

I saw some people though last night, grown men with no kids with them, leaving 10 minutes before the 90. FFS it's not like there was going to be any traffic with only 10,000!!

Its been done to death and to be honest I don't care. If someone wants to leave early then fine, its up to them.

It has always happened and it happens at EVERY football ground in the Country.

No i didnt actually , i had a lift last night but ended up regreting it .... if i had driven i would have gone home at half time as i had some paint drying on the living room wall which would have been much more exciting to watch

Did anybody else spot Bikey pick up the ball at the end of 90 minutes, and go over over to shake hands with the match officials? I'd swear he didn't realise that there was extra-time. Just as well he had his head sorted by the time penalties came around.

If it wasnt for the fact that I was driving and other didnt want to leave , i'd have left after 90mins. I was that bored and wanted to meet some mates for a quick drink in town before they went back to uni.

And no im far far from a 'plastic'.

I also remember games with my dad which were late Elm Park/very very early Mad Stad, and I would never be allowed to stay for extra time and neither would my brother! 'Because its a school night'. We were told that before the game and its the way it was.

Need another example of why people should be allowed to leave early? Imagine not getting home till half midnight and getting up for work at 4am and doing a 10 hour shift?!

This really gets tiring, I think the next person to start a thread along these subject lines should get a ban from HNA forever.
