What the united fans say

by bobby1413 » 21 Sep 2006 14:13

Now I know this doesn't really matter, but found it mildly interesting anyway. I was looking at http://www.redcafe.net just to see what they were predicting.

Some of the responses:

redcafe.net Nice easy three points to get back on track.

redcafe.net again, as with last sunday, this will be no easy three points, particularly if Fergie takes leave of his senses and rests a number of players. I can see us slipping up here and will be wagering as such.

redcafe.net We'll bum them everywhere.

redcafe.net I can see Reading taking the game to us and i think an upset could be on the cards. The way we have approached games such as this one in the past has led me to believe we will drop points. I hope the lads can prove me wrong mind you.

redcafe.net It will be a tough match. For Reading players it is going to be their cup final of the season so no easy ride. They´ll use air a lot so Rio and Wes must be at their best and therefore I would play Silvestre or even O´Shea ahead of Evra at LB.

But still I believe in comfortable victory for us. 0:3 (Saha, Ronaldo, Ole

redcafe.net don't underestimate this team. They actually play football, rather than just battle and pump balls over the top

redcafe.net I'm not underestimating Reading, seeing how Wigan faired last season against most teams. But we'll pull it off in the end.

redcafe.net Don't underestimate Reading at home, seriously.

redcafe.net This will be a tough one. Reading are a good side. Seol and Kevin Doyle are dangerous players.

Maybe it's just the bitter taste after the last game, but I've a feeling we might only draw this game

So really mixed replies, but on the whole they seem cautious but mostly confident. Not under-estimating us. From what they were saying it seems as though they will indeed rest a few key players, plus Van Der Saar may not return to the squad.

That's the sort of arrogance I've come to expect from plastic Manure fans.

If they were all saying that but they're not. No different from any club really, some fans will always think some games are/should be an easy three points. Other's are more cautious.

Quarter Final more like, We've got Arsenal and Chelsea comming up soon after.

redcafe.net They´ll use air a lot so Rio and Wes must be at their best and therefore
Use the air alot? - I don't think so, apart from Marcus hoofing it out of play and Bobby's precision passing.

Maybe they still think we play like we used to in the '80s.

Oh and, LOL, TTBA, Scorpians don't exist.

I wouldn't worry about the fans not underestimating us. Well, last time I looked, it's the players who play football, not the fans. If the Man Utd players are not underestimating us, then be worried.

Biggest games of the season are United and Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are way down the list.

The amount of talk/topics about the United game indicates it's Reading's cup final.

Or the fact it's the next league game on the fixture list.

Also Arsenal and Chelsea are 'local' to us and a lot of Reading fans will know genuine Arsenal and Chelsea fans rather than the lifelong Man U fans who've never been further north than Caversham.
