Ticket faxes

by anR » 22 Sep 2006 10:12

When you send a fax off before the announced onsale date for a match (for example on sale Thursday for 560 points and you've sent the fax off on Wednesday with over 560 points), does the order get processed or ignored?

Faxes seem to get processed after all personal callers and telephone calls so by the time they get to your fax the points band should match your number of points.

Apparently they put them in a pile to be processed on the day that your royalty points total is valid.

Or they do what they did for me .... I sent a fax first thing Wednesday morning .... called wednesday after and they couldn't find it so I ordered one on phone, which arrived the next day. Then today - I receive a second ticket as a result of my fax!!

Now I just have to decide if I want X14 or J44

This happened to me last season. It should not have happened because I ended up with 2 tickets per member card and royalty points were required to purchase those tickets.

The problem with purchasing tickets by fax is that you don't get immediate confirmation of your transaction which causes anxiety, frustration and errors.

Pot luck the fax method. For West Ham I faxed across at 9.30am on Wednesday and had my ticket confirmed an hour later (before any phone or personal callers would have been taken). Other times has taken a bit longer. Never not received a ticket via it though, so I'm happy with it. Just depends who is on and how busy they are it seems as to when they process it.

Have to say that although they have sent me 2 tickets for one member card, I only got one lot of royalty points

Just to confirm, I sent a fax off on Wednesday with enough points and received my tickets today...

The post hadn't come before work, but there they were on my doormat at lunch!

I sent a fax application for West Ham and Pompey tickets at 2.30pm on Wednesday. Both tickets confimed by 6pm that day. Also, received them in the post the next day. Maybe the staff at the sales centre aren't all incompetant! Having said that, Ive only been credited with royalty points for one of the tickets...

:|

What's the point in that? Did they realise that it will be more profitable to fleece us when buying tickets? How difficult do they wanna make it to get tickets? Or do they not really care now most tickets will all go anyway?

Bastards!

Hopefully the lines won't be too busy with the away tickets being sold in stages?

Still annoying - and no good reason to withdraw the fax facility (other than the fact they managed to send me 2 tickets!!)

So away tickets are now only available in person or via the phoneline?

This IS 2006, isn't it?

It only says this in the home games section. Maybe they will still accept faxes for away games?

Just had a text message saying my tickets have been processed and that fax service not available from 25th September.

I know my ticket has been processed as it arrived on Thursday!

And another arrived on Friday !! :?

Maybe I have another one coming?!?!

They could of made this more noticeable! My Portsmouth ticket fax form was sent on Monday and now I have no idea whether they are going to process it or not.... If not then they will have to be bought at the same time as people with just 20 points so that is going to be a bit of a battle! :x

They've now removed mention of fax applications from the away ticket section of the website too. RIP the successful fax method, you served me well. Expensive petrol or phone costs from now on then.

I noticed they've actually put a reason up as well:

As part of the ongoing review of our Sales Centre operations, it has been decided to concentrate our resources on the key sales channels of internet, telephone and personal callers.

Not a good enough reason unless they start selling away tickets online. I won't hold my breath.

Should have waited until the got the key channels, particularly internet and phone, working properly then before abolishing fax sales, which in my experience worked the best of the lot.

Mind you, couldn't keep you haniging on at nearly 10p a minute with a fax could they!

for Wet Sham I sent fax (and got the OK transmission) at about 10am phoned about 12 to see if they had got the fax and the bloke said it hadn't been processed yet so got tickets then and there on the phone

I wouldn't trust a bit of paper in that office

I am actually pleased that fax has been stopped. Having myself used the fax service in a calculated attempt to be at the front of the queue for tickets I have then gotten myself into the inevitable phone up to check loop and ordered the tickets by phone only to have duplicate tickets arrive days and days after the event when the fax application finally gets processed. It's not just me as others have had the same experience.
