Did you hear the Arsenal fans asking him to wave at them? He did, and they cheered...

I was thinking about the match yesterday, and I would rather have lost against a team like arsenal than chelsea.

Why?

Chelsea hardly play much football, a team full (yes, FULL) of divers, getting a 1-0 lead and just sitting back.

Arsenal at least keep on playing football, fast, fluid and entertaining.

We and others around us in the North stand couldn't help applauding Van Persie's goal, even though we didn't really want to.

my mum hates footy but she watched the game yesterday on sky and the first thing she said when i came in through the door was, "how totally biased the commentators were"

along the lines of van persie free kick, pundits said "he must of slipped" however when reading the same it was "dibolical free kick from reading"

Paul Merson - a wife beating, divorced, ex-alcoholic, charlie snorting failed football manager - is one of life's losers and his opinion is of no interest to me.

Cemy Junction Expat ... Paul Merson ("summarising" for Sky today)

Never seen such a total pile of smug, self-satisfied, condescending sh*te in, ooh, at least a few weeks.

Classic "pathetic little Reading" attitude and smug smack-me-here stupid f**** grin to go with it.

I'm surprised he didn't openly question why his golden boys had to dirty their beautiful designer boots coming to collect their automatic 3 points down in peasant-land Berkshire.

"No disrespect to the Reading fans but they should have stood and applauded [the Thierry Henry] goal" - almost kicked the TV screen in.

I was just begging for some witty retort along the lines of "I wouldn't put money on that Paul"....

Really spoiled an otherwise superb display by his team.

Twat!

He was even worse on the Sky Saturday football special programme--kept getting things wrong and then made reference to watching highlights on Match of the Day. Bet that went down well with his Sky bosses!!

Glory Boy Must agree some of Mersons remarks made me cringe but I do think it is great sportsmanship to applaud an opposing teams goal.

Saw Palermo in their promotion season and all their fans rose to their feet and applauded noisily when lowly Avellino equalised with a wonder strike.
Can't ever remember seeing this at any other live game.

Remember Reading - Brighton last year ... Colin Kazim-Richards scored there only goal and most of the East and North applauded

I don't have a clue what you're on about. Anyway, isn't it about time you pissed off to an Arsenal messageboard? I'm sure they've room for one more idiot.
