Riseley You can rest easy in future now that stewards have implemented a policy of banning umbrellas at point of east stand entry and requesting you leave them against the perimeter fence for collection at half-time. One brain cell between the five at the door were too powerful to beat my logical argument and power of persuasion.

LOL - My brother got told he had to walk around to the reception (from east stand) and leave it there. I got mine in, but it was (half) in my back pocket. Got searched but he failed to check my back pockets good search there. But upon getting into the east stand it was apparent that if you looked like you were going to use your umbrella like a woman would, then they would take it off you. However if you looked below 12 and over 40 it was fine to have a brolly.

Royal Lady The bespectacled steward in Y24 who looked about 80 kept shouting out to someone sat towards the back of the stand, "sit down, sit down" - he obviously didn't have the legs to actually walk up to him.

The_Cat Also, why aren't you allowed to bring bottles with lids on into the stadium, I had two bottles of lucozade with me on sunday and the steward checking my bag to both the lids of which meant I had to drink them straight away.

But surely the actual bottle will be worse. And at half time you can buy bottles with lids on from the places which sell Chips anyway.Rhys The RoyalThe_Cat Also, why aren't you allowed to bring bottles with lids on into the stadium, I had two bottles of lucozade with me on sunday and the steward checking my bag to both the lids of which meant I had to drink them straight away.
They do this at alot of stadiums, it's to stop people using a bottle cap (of all things) as a missile.
