Action Pics

So it took less than 24 hours for action pics to put up from the Liverpool game, but still no Arsenal pics? Or am I missing them? I've not been online for a week as I don't have access to tinternet at home (Sky broadband now 29 days past 'go live' date) and I've just been through all the archive stuff and can't find a link.

I do think it's a bit of a shame Reading Football Club can't even give the fans a few quality desktops any more. But I guess that's the Premiership for you (although I see other clubs can do it).

Trust me, the majority of the pics this season (originals) are far better than in previous seasons. Some which appear in the picture specials are heavy crops and can look a little poor, this tends to happen if some "interesting" action happens at the opposite end of the pitch. Also the images are saved at pretty low quality to keep the file sizes down. The quality the images are saved at in the picture specials may be auto generated by the S/W they use so there may not be much control over the quality of the smaller pics.

Having just read this thread I will raise the question with those in the club responsible and see if it is possible to get some more professional looking desktops. At the moment the typical size is about 35KB for a large image, to get a decent looking one you are probably looking at a file size in the region of 200KB, maybe bigger. The file sizes may be small to reduce the amount of traffic on the WEB site when people download and view images, high quality images will take up 6 to 7x the bandwidth of the current images.
