Calling all Basingstoke Royals

by yfbeater » 25 Oct 2006 21:05

I see that the club are considering extending its matchday bus service to surrounding areas including Basingstoke. If you like the idea email the club at stadium@readingfc.co.uk with your postcode.

Hopefully there will be enough interest from Basingstoke to get one up and running.

Are there many Basingstoke Royals on this forum that would be interested?

If it leaves from the station then I would get the train down there and then get the bus, if only a £5/£2.50 for the kids - especially for any mid week games and assuming I can get my connection back.

Great spot yfbeater and well researched!!

A fair few of us make that travel up the A33 so I am sure you will be pleasantly surprised with the uptake.

I will sign up now!!

I'll sign myself, my dad and a friend up aswell.

Ideally we would like the bus to stop at the leisure park so that we can drive there and leave our car in the park and ride before getting the bus.

I sent them an email in full suport of this idea - would solve all my traffic / parking problems, and mean i could have a beer or 2 at a game in future. Hopefully they will be able to get it up and running asap - as I used to park in HP / Compaq, but will need to find somewhere new asap.

Personally hope it would stop at the Chineham Tescos bus stop - as that is pretty much on the A33, has plenty of parking (and is walking distance for me), but even if it started at the bus station in town that would be cool and feasable to get too and from.
