Generally speaking, the banning orders have absolutely sod all to do with the lack of singing at games. Guess I'm a twonk too. Never mind.

I believe we are suffering from the fact that the large groups of people who would normally sit with each other/buy their tickets together are being segregated by the (fair in my opinion) ticketing systems we have in place.

2 of your mates can buy tickets Weds-Friday, 2 can buy from Saturday to Tuesday then the rest thereafter if there are any tickets left.

The freedom of choice to move around the away end and get into larger pockets/groups has diminished somewhat and that my friends is why we may be prone to lacking away end atmosphere this season.

Teams like Man Utd / Liverpool etc have probably been so used to this being the case, that the regular away fans have more than likely adapted to it and found ways to make a constantly loud noise.

You make some good points SKB, so youa re not a twonk. The bit about ticketing system is spot on....

Put it this way...who have the best atmopsheres at the mad stad been...

Cardiff, Millwall, bristol city,etc, WHY?

Because they all have lads who are up for it, and they get behind the team.

I was in the front row below pitch level so could hardly see anyway and then the photographers were in front of me so they impaired my view even more if I sit down so I stand up, then a few minutes after kick off the guy behind me tells me to sit down, so I sit down for a a few seconds and then there's some action I can't see so I stand up again, then the bloke behind me reports me to the steward who is at the bottom of the stairs to the left who then says if I keep standing i'll get thrown out so I ask if there's space anywhere else because I can't see and he just goes "NO".

Did anyone see at half time when Bibbo was kicking balls at Federici who missed one and smack a fan in the face who then got a nose bleed and a photographer rushes to get some pictures?

Didn't see that but was it a ball that hit one of the Pompey Mascots before kick-off? Didn't look to good.

Saw that, I think the photographer got suitably chastised to the point of him being pretty embarrassed about it.

We all sat to command and were quiet and well behaved. I'm sure the Madejski stewards will look at this as the ideal standard for future home games and if their efforts over the past few weeks have led to this behaviour they will consider it a job well done

Saw Leroy shoot during warm up and nearly maim a police dog, just after it had a go at Federici. Policeman and his dog then moved to a safe distance

Melksham,
If you are so desperate to sing find a karaoke.
Nobody is stopping you singing and do you really believe that singing makes any difference to the players out there?
I didn't sing today because....last night I was at a leaving-do where there was a Karaoke and one thing just leads to another.
I thought your post heading was about the football which cost us £28 to watch and for £28 I'm not particularly fussed about hearing for the millionth time that Reading are the greatest team in the world at a time when we are falling just a little bit short.

I think the main reason Reading fans were quiet today was because Pompey had nicked all our songs! so I suggest singing 'you'll never walk alone' at Liverpool next week , that will stun the Kop into silence!

Well I was to the left of the goal and the atmosphere was alright considering there was no roof. You obviously didn't inspire others around you enough - you're not a very good fan. Boooooooooooooooooooooooo.

I see resting the players Wednesday for today worked well.

Another smart move by Coppell.
