Liverpool v Reading predictions

by Barry the bird boggler » 03 Nov 2006 08:05

First time in a while I've not seen a predictions thread, no doubt we all realise the enormity of the task tomorrow ?

It'll take something very special to get a win as the 'pool haven't been done at home in any competition since Chelsea stuffed them in the league back in September or October 2006. Since then I think they've won about 20 of 24/25 or so games played.

As a result I just can't see it going our way, so I'll say a great performance from us but that we'll narrowly go down 2-1.

tough one .
depends on coppells tactics IMO .
the much talked about 4-5-1 could bear fruits but if we stick with 4-4-2 I'll be fearing the German sausage on this one .

3-0 liverpool .

On paper this looks a tough one and a game that anyone connected with Reading might fear the worse. That would have been before the season started not taking into account the recent form of the 2 teams.

I think this is all about the performance, that will in turn build the confidence for the more winnable games to come. A hammering here is not what we want. I actually think we'll really raise our game for this one and that we will score. A draw or a credible narrow defeat with some great outstanding individual peformances will set us up nicely.

Liverpool might also underestimate us, they have played midweek, and Benitez might over tinker as usual.

So 1-1 it is. Reading's goal a Shorey free kick from the edge of the box.

Why is everyone predicting a hammering? Other than the last couple of games, they are hardly a free scoring team.

Liverpool 0 -2 Reading

Lita x2
