fLOLoyd_streete Stephen Hunt really isn't good enough to start Premiership games.

Normally, floyd, you are spot on, but you should get out the tomato sauce, tuck your napkin into your shirt and EAT THOSE WORDS tonight!.

Stephen Hunt is a complete Paradox. Today he had both his best and worst game that I have seen him have for Reading. Defensively and in terms of his energy you really cant argue, but on so many occasions his touch was woeful, as my Friend said today he possibly is the least skillfull player in the Prem (Sonks aside  ).

Having said that BC will have to fight to get his place back.

Hunt 200% effort, 2% skill. He could of scored 4 today.

The only consolation is that BC would not have done any better.

Quite right - some superb stuff that justifies his place in the team, but his finishing is woeful!

On this seasons performance i'd agree but just thinking about that header that Hunty had, remember a similar chance falling to Bobby last term and he waited for it to drop and smashed it in on the volley, can't remember which game mind.

I can see Hunty starting with BC coming on to terrorise teams with 20 - 30 mins to go, once he is over his injury.

I don't get this thing about Hunt having no skill. He clearly does have skill-some of his crosses, through-balls, flicks and backheels are all perfectly good. What he lacks is any sense of consistency in this- he'll do one great cross and follow it up by delivering one straight into row z. Similarly, he'll do one great little pass to set Doyle through on goal, a nifty back heel to set up the first goal and execute a excellent volley that really tests the keeper. On the other hand, he'll completely mess up a shot or header on goal as he did today.

He may not have the ability of, say, a Shorey or a Doyle, but to say he's 2% skill doesn't really make much sense.

Bobby will definitely be back in the team when he is fit. Hunt was good today, but his touch is terrible, his crossing was better today but is normally poor too.

It's all relative, obviously compared to the average Joe, Hunty is a mighty skilled footballer, but compared to the average Prem player, Hunt has very little skill.

For example, if he has time to a take a touch and then cross, he can whip in a really decent cross - So can I.

If he doesn't have time to take a touch then his crossing is reminiscent of a Sonko clearance. Same with his shot and his header.

You mention his pass through to Doyle, which was good, but if you look it was slightly too weak and Doyle had to check his run a bit, whcih meant he didn't have as much time as he could have done.

Also look at the way in whcih Hunt goes past defenders, it normally cannons of about four different legs before landing at his feet leaving a confused defender wondering how that happenend.

You mention his back heel, whcih was good, but isn't exactly the hardest thing in the world to do, and IIRC he tried a bit of skill against spurs last week and almost ended arse over face.

Don't get me wrong love Hunty for effort and think that he is well worth his place in the side at the moment, on shear effort and his defensive abilites, but skillfull he ain't. I also think him and Shorey are starting to link up really well now, which might benefit Hunt as Nicky can actually cross a ball (with his left foot anway),

I was thinking during the match, the way he chasing the ball down must be quite intimidating for the opposition, especially with his hair flopping all over the place. It got me thinking maybe thats why he's grown it, that and to rid himself of any resemblence to a certain A.Hughes... but other than the build up for the first goal it WAS like having Hughes back!

In short, I thought he had a shocker today..

When Kitson returns, I can see Seol playing down the left with Hunt on the bench and Bobby in the Upper West!

3 goals (one with a header) so far from our 2 footed winger/striker makes him odds on 2 keeps his place IMHO and I can't see Blakey getting dropped :?

Bobby Convey will start when he is fully fit.

I wouldn't be so sure. I reckon Hunty will keep his place.

So Convey is going to walk back in the side with 2 players having already staked a claim to play in the same position :?

Even Glen Little had to wait his turn and, unlike Convey, he was playing well before he was injured...................dream on, in other words.

Obviously he wont walk back into the team, what i am saying is like Little, he will become the regular starter at left midfield when he gets a chance.

May the best man win but Seol will take some dropping, even though he goes missing at times, if he keeps scoring.

Seol does not track back enough to start on the wing in a 4-man midfield, and Hunt doesnt have the quality. Bobby has pace, can cross, gets back, and links up well with Shorey.

Floyd_streete you and your x factor panel on your row are hilarious, i swear you watch the wrong game, The Lad in front of me the one who looks like a mole who has been on the pies is a complete 1st class idiot, all he does is moan. Especially about Hunt..and more hilariously about Seol being lazy..i suggest he has a hard look at himself if hes telling others he is lazy
